Mrs. Shirlene Rozier

Shirlene Mitzy Rozier was born September 14, 1933 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Gilbert Anderson and Dorothy Payne Anderson. Our loved one passed away on October 26, 2024 at the blessed age of 91 years. Shirlene shared 60 years of marriage with Sandy Rozier. He preceded her in death in 2020. She was employed at St. Lukes Hospital (now Covenant Healthcare Cooper) before retiring with 32 years of dedicated service. “Our mother enjoyed being around her family listening to music, talking and laughing”. Mrs. Rozier leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Marshon Whitley of Saginaw, MI, Toni Whitley of Auburn Hills, MI and Tanya Rozier (Garlen Grayson) of Saginaw; six grandchildren, Deadra and LaShon Whitley, Jemar, Alex and Corian Rozier, all of Saginaw and Bryan Whitley of Auburn Hills, MI; six great-grandchildren, Onnise Whitley of Flint, MI, Thomas (Rell) Rawls of Saginaw, MI, Thomas (Ty) Jacky Rawls of Seattle, Tiara Davison, Corahn Whitley and Kaci Haynes, all of Saginaw, MI; eight great-great-grandchildren, Sharell, Tristan and Legend Rawls, Ozias, Zaniya and Zaliyah Hare, Leo Davison and Da’Shawn Penn; two sisters, Cecil Thomas Robinson of Saginaw, MI and Jacki Thomas Threadgill of Houston, TX; two brothers, Dwight (Tara) Thomas and Arthur (Evette) Thomas, both of Houston, TX; bonus brother, William Evans of Flint, MI; aunt, Hazel Darlene Johnson of Chicago, IL; uncle, Henry of Milwaukee, WI; six nieces, Crystal (Johnny) Brown, Flint, MI, Tricia Pruitt, Detroit, MI, Chery (Jonathan) Hardy, Erika Thomas, both of Saginaw, MI, Dorothy Thomas, Detroit, MI and Donna (Fred) Poplar, Flint, MI; two nephews, Harold (Kim) Ashburn of Flint, MI and Daren (Yolanda) Ashburn of Flint, MI; great-nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Roberts of Columbus, GA and Gloria Thomas of Detroit, MI; two cousins, Kathy Eston (William) Muhammad, and Venus Powell Martin, both of Fort Wayne, IN; many other relatives and friends including special friends Pearl McGee of Saginaw, MI, Minnie Pearl of Flint, MI, the McKnight family, Marvin (Kenda) Henry, Morris, Eugene Perkins and Rawls families. Mrs. Shirlene Mitzy Rozier was also preceded in death by a daughter in 1981, Sandi Rozier great-grand-baby, Nevaeh Sur’Ray Rozier; her parents, Gilbert Anderson and Dorothy Payne; Bethany Ashburn, Yvonne Anderson, brothers, Richard “Ricky” Thomas, Clarence Anderson, Daniel, Gilbert Anderson, Jr.; step-parents, Fleanor and Clara Thomas; mother and father-in-law, Charlie (Julia) Rozier; sister-in-law, Norma Thomas; brothers-in-law, Charlie and Johnnie Rozier; cousin, Irma Jean Powell. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024 at New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 3610 Russell St., Saginaw, MI 48601. Evangelist Donna Poplar will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
