Ms. Sue W. Macon

Ms. Sue W. Macon gained her wings on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the age of 75 years. She was born November 30, 1946 in Dumas, Arkansas to the parents of Rev. Johnnie Goodman and Alice (Parker) Winfrey. Sue accepted Christ at an early age. She was a dedicated nurse at New Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of her father, the late Pastor Johnnie Goodman. She graduated from Mackinaw Academy and then earned a degree in childcare from Delta College. Children in the City of Saginaw and surrounding areas were blessed as Sue owned and operated her own “Daycare” for many years. She loved spending time with her family going on trips. She will be truly missed by family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Bobby Johnson, Jr.; two daughters, Priscilla Johnson and Katria Davis; one stepdaughter, Deidra Greer, Dallas, TX; 18 grandchildren, Fabian, Latrice, Samuel, Tiesha, Bobby, Jr., Ashley, Bobbie Sue, Taylor, LaQuita, Trenell, Caleb, Dontae, Sharnell, DeVeon, A’Mariea, DeCorrion, DeQuavion and Jade; six sisters, Lutha M. Studivent, Marilyn Goodman, Gwen Goodman, Ebony Hoosier Terrell, Shirley (James) Franklin and Barbara Payne; one brother, George (Clara) Wimbley, Pine Bluff, AR; three aunts, Augusta Presley, Betty (Winston) Scott, both of Benton Harbor, MI and Dora Jean Cayton, Montrose, MI; one uncle, David Rainey; lifelong friends, Anita Hamilton, Margaree White, Vera Handley and Debra Taylor; a host of nieces including two special nieces, Shanell Calhoun and Latoya Young; a host of nephews, other relatives and friends. Sue was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Johnson and Melvin Calhoun, Jr.; mother, Alice Goodman Winfrey; father, Pastor Johnnie Goodman; two brothers, Samuel Davis and Bennie Goodman; two sisters, Yvonne Goodman and Lillie M. Williams; grandmothers, Queen Spinks and Queen Goodman; four uncles, Joe, John and William Jones and Wandell Goodman; two aunts, Ida Bradley and Zemria Goodman. The family would like to express special thanks to Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital 6th Floor ICU and 4th Floor. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Evangelist Gwen Goodman will officiate.
