Theodore D. McAfee, Sr.

Mr. Theodore D. McAfee, Sr. left this earthly life for his heavenly reward on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the age of 68 years. He was born January 31, 1946 in Birmingham, AL, the son of Theodore E. and Marion M. McAfee. Mr. McAfee attended Miles College for two years and soon thereafter was drafted into the United States Army. He was a Delphi retiree, where he was employed as a Plant Supervisor. Mr. McAfee was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church where he sang in the Chancel Choir and the Adult Mass Choir. He was funny, loving, caring and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed watching sports, listening to music and spending time with family. He leaves to cherish precious memories, his wife, Sylvia A. McAfee of Saginaw, MI; (Children) Theodore D. (Cedric) McGregory, Daphney (Wilbur) Long, Charelle A. (Myron) Granderson, Felita (Nnamdi) Nwaogwugwu, Jasmine House, Kateria Thompson; (Nephews) Leslie Walton, Anthony (Sabrina) McAfee, Jeremy Jones, Raphael House and Darius House; (Uncle) Wilson McAfee of Marietta, GA; (Sisters-in-law) Eugenia Browning and Dorothy House of Saginaw, MI and Helen McAfee of Beauford, SC; (Brothers-in-law) Jerome (Dorothy) House, Edward (Sharon) House, Roderick (Bobbie) House, Erskine (Eugenia) Browning, Arthur (Constance) Walton and George (Muriel) Hemingway; (Special friends) Henry and Margaret Brown, Ryan Maloy (Godson), Willie and Wanda Hale, Benny Gibson, Delores Wilson, Doris Brown, Raymond Shackleford, Torrie and Christopher Lee and other great nieces and nephews. Mr. McAfee was preceded in death by his father, Theodore E. McAfee; mother, Marion M. McAfee; grandparents, Ed & Mattie Roberson (maternal) and Ernest & Lucille McAfee (paternal); brothers, Harold McAfee and Ernest (Howard) McAfee; and mother and father-in-law, Eugene & Artrice House. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 535 Cathay Street. Pastor P. David Saunders will officiate with interment in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., where the family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
