Mr. Tommy Lee Bigbee

Mr. Tommy Lee Bigbee passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the age of 82 years. He was born January 29, 1934 in Aberdeen, Mississippi, the son of Tom and Effie Bigbee. Tommy was a resident of Saginaw, MI and graduated in 1954 from ACHS High School in Aberdeen, MS. He was a former member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Roosevelt Austin. Tommy served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He retired from General Motors, Malleable Iron Foundry where he received several Perfect Attendance Awards and Certificates during his 46 years of faithful service. Tommy was also a skilled in auto mechanics. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was known by the family and the community for his cooking, especially for his collard greens and candied yams. Tommy loved all kinds of music especially country music, he was an avid fan of Charlie Pride, his favorite song was “Kiss an Angel Good Morning”. Mr. Tommy Lee Bigbee leaves to cherish his memory, children, Toni Brown, Brenda (David) Moore, Berta (Mark) Ford, Tony Saunders, and Shirley Taylor; grandchildren, Jamiece Taylor, Tim Terrentine, Ivey Taylor, Mia Taylor, Aaron Latimer, David Moore, Jr., Brandon Moore, Joshua Moore, Taylor Winters and a host of other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Davian Anthony, Olivia Savannah Marie and Lathan Breion Moore and a host of other great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Vickie Taylor; sister, Corrine Bigbee Fuse; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including good friend, Joe Jackson. Mr. Bigbee was preceded in death by his wife, Velvet J. Bigbee; son, James Taylor; parents, Tom and Effie Bigbee; two sisters, S. L. Davis “Doll” and Virginia McBeth; Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Greater Solid Rock Baptist Church, 605 Meade, Pastor Ernest Reed, Host Pastor. Rev. Melvin T. Jones will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present to greet friends 6:00-8:00 p.m.
