Mr. Ulish "Luke" Watson

Mr. Ulish “Luke” Watson passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the age of 88 years. He was born on January 26, 1930 in Scobey, Mississippi to George Watson and Mandy Terry. Mr. Watson accepted Christ at an early age and was a long standing member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. He attended regularly with “the love of his life” his wife Annette (Calhoun) Watson who preceded him in death on March 13, 2013. Additionally, in August of the same year Mr. Watson relocated to Warrensburg, MO to be near his daughters. Mr. Watson retired from the Chevrolet Grey Iron Plant of General Motors Corp. in June 1985. He was a member of UAW Local 668. After Mr. Watson retirement he and his beloved wife of 58 years traveled visiting family and friends while enjoying each adventure along the way. He had compassion for people and believed in “treating others the way you want to be treated.” Family and friends meant a lot to him as well and they knew it. He extended his kindness by being there for them when needed, if asked. In turn, he was adored by many, respected by those who knew him and is still being spoken of in a positive way. He shall be missed by all. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Brenda Watson and Rhonda (Curtis D. Jr.) Owens both of Warrensburg, MO; grandchildren, Joseph Owens of Durant, OK, Marcus Owens of Denison, TX, DeAndre (Jasmine) Owens, Adonnis, Yasani and CiAsia Gray all of Warrensburg, MO; great-grandchildren, James, Amari, Jayden and Jalen Kenneth Owens, all of Warrensburg, MO; special nephew, (more like a son) Phil (Patricia) Henton of Texas; siblings, Fozzie Sanders, Reba Kimble, Bertha (Clinton) Baker all of Chicago, IL, Vernon (Lois) Watson, Nez (Dorothy) Watson all of Grenada, MS, Rivers Watson of Dallas, TX and Cephas (Rose) Watson of Peoria, AZ; very special sister-in-law, Hattie ( George) Watson of Grenada, MS, many other relatives and friends. Mr. Watson was also preceded in death by his parents, George Watson and Mandy Terry; Sisters, Mary Alice, Debora Watson; brothers, George Watson, Jr., Jessie (Mary) Watson, Clarence Watson, Sr.; his in-laws, Tim Sanders, G.L. Kimble, Eloise McLeod, Georgia Henry, Gladys Henton, Dorothy Matthews and Richard Calhoun. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 810 Cathay Street, Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Blake Strozier will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
