Ms. Vennie Pearl Riley

Apostle Vennie “Gal” Riley passed away on February 20, 2024. Age 68 years. Vennie was born on June 27, 1955, to the union of Ezell and Ozell Riley in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She moved to Saginaw with family in 1980. Vennie grew up in a Baptist Church and received Christ in 1993. Her love for Christ was demonstrated in her love for serving the church and, in her teachings that she delivered to others. Vennie was the church secretary for Temple of Faith Apostolic House of Deliverance Church for years under the leadership of Pastor Mattie Lou Works and Assistant Pastor Darlean Morgan. In her later years, she served under Pastor Natalie Harris. Vennie graduated from Ocoee High School in Ocoee, Florida in 1973. She also attended Delta College after moving to Michigan. Vennie had a passion for her family, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, they always put a smile on her face. Her hobbies included studying the bible and crocheting. If you were lucky enough to get a blanket hand made by her, you are blessed. She will always be remembered for having encouraging words for everyone. Her “good morning” memes will be greatly missed by all. Vennie leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Ozell Riley; four beautiful daughters, Lisa Riley (Vincent Mack), Crystal Barkley, Darlean Ervin and Michelle (Brandon) Harris; grandchildren, Aniya, Jaden, Van, Destiny, Van ’Tarrion, Miy’Angel, Chauncey, Amaya, Kevin, Brandon Jr, Brooklynn, Brielle and Michael; siblings, Betty (Jeff) Baber, Saginaw, MI, Willie Riley, Billy (Patrice) Riley, both from Winter Garden, FL; aunts, Annie Ruth (Andrew) Cotton, Gladis Butler and Shirley Chestnut; uncle, Edward Clark; two special nieces, Santana Lane and Latrisha Baber; two special godchildren, Briona Robinson and Darrion Robinson; a host of nieces and nephews; also special friends, Trina Allen, Faye Burt and Linda Burt Robinson. Vennie was preceded in death by her father, Ezell Riley; and her siblings, James Ezell Riley and Beatrice Smith. Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Bethlehem Temple Church, 3521 Webber Street, Saginaw, MI 48601. Host Pastor, Elder Curtis Johnson. Pastor Natalie Harris will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Family hour will take place from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
