Wilhelmina Bolton

Wilhelmina Bolton (Hood) passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at the age of 45 years. She was born April 8, 1969 in Saginaw, MI, the daughter of the late Alice Helen Bolton and John Wesley Bolton. Mina earned three Bachelor of Science Degrees; two from Michigan State University, one in 1993 and one in 2011, and one from Saginaw Valley State University in 2011. She was employed as an engineer with General Motors for 16 years. Mina gave of herself as a tutor and also as a mentor with the Big Brothers Big Sisters. She worked as a volunteer with Covenant Medical Center Occupational Therapy department. She enjoyed photography, scrapbooking and entertaining family and friends. She was committed to education and was always aspiring to learn and pass knowledge to others. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was a member of the Center Road Church of Christ. Mina had a great zeal for life. She was very adventurous and enjoyed travelling the world. Her bright smile and optimistic outlook could light up a room and warm hearts. Mina leaves to cherish precious memories, her husband, Darrell Hood; son, Wesley Ahmad Bolton; step-daughter, Jasmine; sister, Lenore (Kenneth) Crockett; two brothers, Fredrick and David (Bessie) Long; seven nieces, LaToya (Dewayne), Lakisha, Kirsten, Blaire, Sabrina, Camisha and Amanda; five nephews, Ashone, Fredrick Jr., Ryan, James and David Jr., special great-niece, Amiya; two aunts, Rosetta Lee and Rosie Thorne; special uncle, Joe (Geneva); mother and father-in-law, Elnora and Eddie Hood; sister-in-law, Pam Williams (Rick); many great-nieces and great-nephews; special cousins, Bobbie, Latrice and Chantell; and many other relatives and friends, including Kim, Teresa, Trina, Brad, Regina, Leslie, Margaret and Eric. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley Bolton and Alice Helen Bolton; grandparents, Walsh and Willie Mae Bolton and Mayme Emma Lewis; two uncles, James Houze and Jules Houze; and one aunt, Geraldine Simmons Crumpler. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Center Road Church of Christ, 1325 North Center Road. Minister James Sanderson will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
