Ms. Willa Mae Branch Marselis

Willa Mae (Branch) Marselis, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and god-mother went home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2021 at the age of 68 years. She was born on April 16, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan to the parents of Rev. Will H. Branch and Essie Bee Williams. Willa attended Longstreet, Central Jr., Saginaw High School, and graduated in the “Class of 71”. She became a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church at the age of four years. She was a member of the Caring Hands Ministry, a Sunday School teacher, worked with Puppet the Ministry, served as Vice-president of the Senior Nurses Guild and a member of the Kitabu Book Club. She was employed at St. Mary’s (Ascension) Hospital, and worked in medical records until her illness. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Willie Branch and Ras Marselis, Jr. (Candi). Willa loved her grandsons and they loved her dearly, Scotty, Tevin and Kevin Branch and Dar’quarius McCulloh; great-grandchildren, Harmony, Taylor A’Marlee, Tevin, Jr., KyMani, Xzavier and Kadence Branch, Anthony Parish and Anylia; one brother, Jimmy Branch (Ava) of Omaha, NE; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Levetty Branch of Saginaw and Mrs. Ann Davis of Chicago, IL; special aunt, Mrs. Kathrine Feltson Graves; a host of nieces and nephews too many to name them all; special sisters-in-love, Carol Shivers, Freddy Mae Marshall, Theresa Lamar, Beverly Hill, Tina Fisher, Terri and Pat Williams, Debra Austin and Dona Bigby. Godchildren is the name we have to name, Andre Thomas, Khah’l Garrett, LeMonica Lee, Erica Shivers and Jennifer (Hayes) Jones; a very, very special friend, Mr. Jeffrey Tyler. Willa was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Will Branch and Essie Bee; step-moms, Essie May and Rose L. Branch; two brothers, Willie Branch, Jr. “Tyrone Davis” and LeRoy Branch and uncle, Dave Feltson. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Covenant HealthCare Nurses, Sara S., Faith, Amanda, Liz, Emily and Emily. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Rodrick A. Smith will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
