Pastor William L. "Billy" Scott, Jr.

Pastor William “Bill” Scott was born December 28, 1941 in Kimball, Virginia to William L. and Geraldine Scott. He transitioned on March 26, 2019 at the age of 77 years. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army and was a graduate of Central Michigan University with a BA in Industrial Arts. He has received numerous awards and certificates for ministry and community service. While Pastor Scott appreciated these accolades, his utmost desire was to serve God. He lived this scripture: Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least brothers and sisters of mine you did for me. (NIV) His desire was to hear the Lord Say, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:21 (NIV) He was the Pastor of 9th Street Community Church. Pastor Scott was very active and loyal in the International Mennonite Church. His hobbies were reading his Bible, traveling with his wife, bowling and playing “Words with Friends!” Pastor Scott leaves to cherish wonderful memories, his best friend and loving wife of 43 years and 3 months, Vivian Scott; four children, Gerri L. (Elder Jeffery) Bowen, Ethelind Scott, Tobin J. (Myra) Williams, Tracey (Greg) McKinney; his only sibling, Robert L. Scott; grandchildren, Angela (William) Burton, Jennifer (Minister Marcelle) Smith, Travis McKinney, Cameron Williams, Roderick Madison, Jessica Scott, Brittany (Benjamin) Craig, Jeffery Bowen, II and William Ware; 10 great-grandchildren whom he LOVED and ENJOYED spending time with. Proverbs 17:6, “Grandchildren are the crown of the elderly!” He also leaves to cherish his memory a HOST of nieces and nephews, and many loved ones, too numerous to name. Billy leaves to cherish wonderful memories the mother of his two daughters, Mary McDonald; three aunts, Pearl Heilig, Roberta Johnson and Patricia Scott; special friends, Pastor Hurley Coleman, Jr., Pastor James Nelson, Pastor Rex Jones and Victor Jones; his personal Prayer Warrior, Mother Ethel Drain. Cremation has already taken place at the request of Pastor William “Billy” Scott. Memorial service will take place 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at World Outreach Campus, 2405 Bay Road, Saginaw, MI 48602. Pastor H.J. Coleman, Jr., Host Pastor and Pastor James Nelson will officiate. Friends may call at the church 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
