Willie Flemings

Mr. Willie Edward Flemings, also known as “Monk”, was born September 15, 1946 in Headland, AL, the son of Lola and Willie Flemings, Sr. Willie married Lue Ellen Spurling, the love of his life, on December 31, 1964 in Headland, AL. They later moved to Saginaw, MI in 1965. He was employed by General Motors Grey Iron Foundry for 39 years and was a member of UAW Local 668. Willie enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and listening to good music. His presence will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lue Ellen Flemings; seven children, Don (Denise) Flemings, Rosemary Bell, Deon Flemings, Shena Flemings, Marvel Willie McClain, all of Saginaw, MI, Jacqueline (Anthony) Miles of Fayetteville, NC, and Shantale Underwood of Charlotte, NC; 21 grandchildren, Rafael Taylor, Jr., Delvon Taylor, Junea Taylor, Anthony Miles II of Fayetteville, NC, Shontanece Donald, Travis Donald, Jr., Ontayveis Underwood, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Ka’Desha Henderson, Shaviante Jackson, Deon Flemings, Delion Trouse, Donavon Flemings, Jada Herdon, Tameka Reynolds, Marcel McClain, Cha’Mari McClain, Latoya Bulger, Dontae Bell, Keith Bulger, Jr., Donovan Bulger, all of Saginaw, MI, and Deondrea Flemings of Huntsville, AL; four great-grandchildren, Aubriel Jones of Huntsville, AL, Deriona Brown, Donesha and Danasha Bulger, all of Saginaw, MI; one sister, Peggy (Robert) Scott; one brother, Andrew Flemings; mother-in-law, Lucille Spurling of Headland, AL; three sisters-in-law, Diane (Rudolph) Warren of Headland, AL, Blondell Johnson of Dothan, AL and Georgia Duncan of Miami, FL; one brother-in-law, Samuel Vickers of Saginaw, MI; a special niece, Tammy Camel; three special cousins, Brenda Morris, Eunice Morris and Becky Petty; three special friends, Pastor James Speed, James Cook and David Lee; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Willie was preceded in death by his father, Willie Flemings, Sr. and daughter, Jennifer Flemings. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 818 North Washington Ave., with the funeral commencing at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Robert Davis, Jr., Pastor. Pastor James Speed will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
