Mother Willie Louise Jones

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the age of 79 years after suffering a long illness. Willie was born August 30, 1937 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. The daughter of Claudine Luster and Tyree Hogan. She married Paul Jones on January 5, 1953. To this union were born seven children; Charles “Spooky”, Vivian, Douglas “Oopy”, Bonnie, Felicia, Amy, and Cedric. While healthy, Willie was an active member at New Galilee Full Gospel Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s Board for many years. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. Willie also loved her Pastor Luciose and First Lady Kayron Lewis; his messages and all their visits. She loved to travel, fellowship and shop. In the early day, she worked as a waitress at Big Boy Restaurant for a number of years. Most of her life she was a home maker caring for her family. Willie was a strong woman and fought a good fight and would comment ‘I Won’t Complain’. She leaves to cherish her memory; husband of 63 years, Paul Jones; five children, Vivian (Nathaniel) Armstrong of Little Rock, AR, Bonnie Jones of Kalamazoo, MI, Felicia Robinson of Saginaw, MI, Amy (Rodney) Pruitt of Kalamazoo, MI and Cedric Jones of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, Andrey, Quincy, Nathan, Charles, Eric, Tarrie, Tadric, Sabrina, Lauren, Cedric and Miles; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Suzette Jones of Davenport, IA; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Grays, Ruth Jones both of Saginaw, MI and Annette Hogan of Seattle, WA; special friend, Bennie-Lee Nettles of Los Angeles, CA; special niece, Myra ‘Rebee’ Payne of Woodbridge, VA; special nephew, Travis Jones of Saginaw, MI and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her, children, Charles and Douglas Jones; grand-children, Anthony, Jr. and Torrey Robinson; parents Claudine Luster and Tyree Hogan; step-father, Q.V. Luster; sister, Claudia Henderson and brother, James Hogan. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at New Galilee Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1722 Sanford Street. Pastor Luciouse Lewis will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
