Mr. Willie Gene Southward

Mr. Willie Gene Southward was born March 15, 1962 in Iuka, Mississippi the son of Mildred Boyd and Willie D. Southward. He passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the age of 62 years. Willie gave his life to Christ at an early age. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He valued his two children and grandchildren above all. His laugh was unforgettable and Willie was the life of the party, he enjoyed trying to dance and listening to the blues. He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Marquiesha Southward; one son, Willus Williamson; grandchildren, Ca’Mari Southward, Alabama, Mar’Kese Southward, Kingston and Kendall Stone all of Saginaw; mother, Mildred Gipson; sisters, Carolyn Southward, Saginaw; Gwendolyn Southward-Gooding, Lima, OH, Kay, Sheila, Kimberly and Fredricka Gipson; brothers, David (Rose) Southward, Gregory Southward and Samuel Gipson, Jr.; step-children, Torrion, Misty, Tina and Jermaine Williamson; aunts, Brenda Bond-Johnson, Pamela (Mosby) Clark, Juanita Benning and Juanita Boyd; uncles, Jerry Boyd and Michael Boyd; nieces, Taronda Southward, Shavonne Manley, Kenyatta Choice, Shanique Southward and Krystal Cuffy; nephews, David Favorite, David Wallace, Brandon Wooten, Davion and Michael Southward, Tyler and Cameron Southward; cousins, including Kenny Watkins, Deondre Garcia, Willie Taylor, Tanesha Tayborn, Jamar Hudspeth, Tamika Boyd, Latrice (Pierre) Griffith-Ford, Maurice Goines, Glen Jackson, Kevon Goodman, Marcellus Emerson, Monique (Omar) Mitchell, Micheal, Toya and Joy Boyd, Rasheed Boyd, Kei’erra Blakes and a special great-cousin, Laila Ford; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; god-sister, Renee Meredith; god-brother, Andre Miller and special friends, Evelyn Whittington, Paul Bracey and Mary and a host of other cousins. Mr. Willie Gene Southward was preceded in death by his father, Willie D. Southward; step-father, Samuel Joe Gipson; grandparents, Hamp and Jeanette Boyd, Dave and Gertrude Southward; aunts, Linda Hudspeth, Diane and Ruth Boyd, Rebecca Southward, Laura Bullock, Emma Whitson and Leuvenia. Alexander, Daisy Lee Thorne and Martha Benning; uncles, Hamp Boyd, Richard Hudspeth, Billy Johnson, Howard, KC and Bubba Southward; a special niece, Shanika Southward; great-nephew, John Parham; great-niece, I’amunique Manley; cousins, Dontay Boyd, Jerry Hamilton and Devon Williams. The family would like to express special thanks to all family and friends for their love and support. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Miles Franklin will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
