Mr. Wilton Rance

lMr. Wilton Rance, a loving husband, father, grandfather, relative and friend was called to Heaven on December 1, 2016 surrounded by his family. Wilton was born on August 23, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Thomas J. and Mary Rose (Petty) Rance. He was baptized at an early age and was a longtime member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where he served on the Usher Board for many years. He attended Saginaw Public Schools, graduating from Saginaw High School “Class of 1959”. After high school he attended Bay City Junior College. He then served our country with distinction in the US Army and traveled extensively through Europe during his service. Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1967, Wilton attended Saginaw Business Institute where he earned an Accounting Degree. Wilton worked in various roles for General Motors Corporation until 1990 when he retired from the company after 24 years of service. On October 23, 1965 Wilton married the love of his life, the former Eddie Mae Cashow in Saginaw, MI. To this union they were blessed with two beautiful children, Audra Denise Rance of Fairfield, OH and Roland Curtis Rance of Oklahoma City, OK; three wonderful grandchildren, Jimmy Shields of Albuquerque, NM, Jasmin Nicole Rance of Oklahoma City, OK and Roland Wilton Rance of Saginaw, MI; In October Wilton and Eddie Mae celebrated 51 years of wedded bliss- what a blessing!! He loved spending time with family, listening to jazz and watching & talking sports, especially his passion for the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Pistons. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Wilton is survived by two brothers-in-law, Wade (Amanda) Cashow of Saginaw, MI and Buster ( Tracy) Cashow of Detroit, MI; a sister-in-law, Mary Cashow, Camden, AL; an aunt, Odahlia Rance of Saginaw, MI; two uncles, Bartow Petty of Saginaw, MI and Willie Flowers of Ozark, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. and Mary Rose Rance and sister, Angenell Rance Rodgers. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Bethel A. M. E. Church, 535 Cathay Street with the funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor P. David Saunders will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
