Mother Winnie Marie Feltson

Ms. Winnie Marie (Fields) Feltson passed away July 22, 2016 at the age of 74 years. She was born March 1, 1942 in Pineville, Louisiana to Sam Sr. Fields and Julia (Shorts) Johnson. Ms. Feltson attended school in Alexandria, LA. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, going to the casino and the horse track. She was a retiree of General Motors Corporation and was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member on the Mother’s Board. She loved God and her family. Ms. Feltson leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters and two sons; Tommy C., Sheryl Y., Kenneth W. (Crystal) Thomas, Monica L. and Kim Feltson; thirteen grandchildren, Nekeidra, LaKenya, Donyell, Tommy, Reba, Cherise, Kenneth, Makayla, Darius, Cherish, Kimora, Artie and Joseph; 20 great-grandchildren, Ty’Eisha, Brionna, Kamerin, Amari, Eric, Ny’Asia, Jayla, Darrion, TaeSaen, Janiya, London, Jabari, Darius, Jr., Autumn, Noelle, Emil, Maddison, Brandon, Bryan and Kalvin; three sisters, Carolyn Parker of Flushing, MI, Dian Boose (Leo) of Saginaw, MI and Mary (Thomas) Williams of Alexandria, LA; seven brothers, Danny (Ginger) Winbush of Saginaw, MI, Walter (Devonne) Winbush, Henry( Rosa) Winbush of Baton Rouge, LA, Sam and Bridget Fields of Saginaw, MI, Alonzo (Patricia) Fields, Sr., Roy (Junnie) Fields, Sr. and Ray Fields of Flint, MI, a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends including special friends, Mr. Melvin and Craig Irwin. Mother Feltson was preceded in death by her parents, Julia Shorts and Sam Fields, Sr.; a great-grandson, Jeremiah MyKing Jones; two sisters, Edna Hayes and Frances Teer; two brothers, Calvin and Wardell Winbush; a niece, Kara Hayes; one cousin, Bammer Manning and good friend, Ernestine White. The family would like to express special thanks to Tommy Thomas, Reba Crockett, Mary Bonds, Danyell Winbush and aunt Hilda Winbush for the care they gave, and also to Melissa the hospice nurse. Thanks for the calls, visits, and prayers which has sustained and ministered to us. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1721 Tuscola Street. Dr. Willie F. Casey will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m.
