Mrs. Yvette "Pank" Oliver Morris

Yvette Regina Oliver Morris affectionately known as “Pank” our beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2023 at the age of 57 years. Mrs. Morris was born on January 27, 1966 in new Brittan, Connecticut to Harriet and Eugene Bailey. Yvette was a member and was employed with Christ Disciples Baptist Church as the Secretary of the church and she also worked at Loving Care Day Care where she was lovingly known by the children as” Auntie”. She graduated from Buena Vista High School, “Class of 1984.” She loved reading her bible educating her family and friends on the Lord. She loved yelling and calling out to her husband, “Kenny” all day long with instructions and watching Dr. Charles Stanley every morning. She also enjoyed shopping, decorating, loved to dress, going out to eat and loved spending time with her family as well as all of her nieces and nephews and more shopping on QVC. Out of all the things Yvette enjoyed doing every day, her most favorite was holding conversations with her sister, ”Hack”. She leaves to cherish loving memories, her husband of 30 years Kenny Morris, Saginaw, MI; one step-daughter, Lakeisha Gallaway, Grand Rapids, MI; one brother, Gary (Chantel) Oliver; two sisters, Stephanie Oliver and Harriet Brittain both of Saginaw; mother-in-law, Della Morris; three brothers-in-law, Harold (Mary) Morris, Darrel (Cynthia) Morris, Saginaw and David (Inez) Morris, Dothan, AL; three sisters-in-law, Clintonia (James) Jones, Latisher (Andrew) Hall of Brundidge, AL and Tanya (Victor) Cary, Wetumpka, AL; aunts, Annie Echols and Janie Coston both of Saginaw, Savanna Caffey and Desiree Pickett both of Brundidge, AL; special niece, Bre’Chan (Shateak) Black; nephews, Eugene Bailey, Dwayne (Deyja) Oliver, Jr. and Gary Oliver, Jr. (Aursonta Mounger) all Saginaw and Brandon Burke, Grand Rapids, MI; great-nephews, Usher (Rabbit) Oliver, Prince Black and King Gary Oliver all of Saginaw; great-nieces, Kaya Burke, Niquel and Gabrielle Oliver, Atlanta, GA, Shianne and DeZire Oliver, De’Meriona and Ja’Lasia Bailey all of Saginaw; nieces and nephews, Bria (Amos) Johnson, Romulus, MI, Shawann Rogers, Brundidge, AL, Brandi (Jalen) Morris, OH, Darrell Morris, Jr., NY and Xavier Morris, Wetumpka, AL; a host of special friends and family including Everett Muffin, the Gardner, Richardson and Ezell families, Desiree (Calvin) Worthy, Trudy (Art) Vaughn, Debra Moore, Pastor Genevieve Benson, Deacon Voltz, Faye Gillerson, Love Hobbs, Lakeisha Nelson, Daniel Montreal, Vicky Smith, Rylan C. Thompson, the Christ Disciples Church family and the Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Harriet Bailey; grandparents, Carlater and Hershel Shannan; one brother, Dwayne Oliver; nephew, Darius Bailey; father-in-law, Willie Morris; brother-in-law, Damon Brittain; special friends, Michelle Ezell, Elisha Stuckey. The family wishes to express special thanks to Darlane Blackmon, Pastor Genevieve Benson; the entire Christ Disciples Baptist Church an A&D Home Health Care and to all of you for your prayers, presence, love, telephone calls and other expressions of concerns that you’ve shown during our time of off bereavement. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Genevieve Benson will officiate.
