Funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, 818 North Washington Avenue. Pastor Robert Davis, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Browne's Mortuary, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, on Monday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Our beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather departed this life to be in the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Mr. Zollie Stewart, Jr. was born April 5, 1934 in Birmingham, AL to the late Zollie and Siller Stewart. He retired from the Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry after 45 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 668. Mr. Stewart united in Holy Matrimony with Mae Ella Floyd in 1957 until her death in 2005. To this union, four children were born: Constance Coates, Zollie Lagrand Stewart, Kim Rogers and Rivas Stewart. Zollie was a member of Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Security Ministry. He loved traveling, family, good conversation and cooking the "Best Ribs in Town". Mr. Stewart leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Constance Coates, Zollie Lagrand Stewart, Kim Rogers, Rivas (Stephanie) Stewart, Cheryl Moore, Carla Jordan, Clematee Davis, Cyril DeLaPerrie, Gregory (Rochelle) Patterson, Stephanie and James Ford; 39 grandchildren, Toiya, Adriann, NaKeyia, Shamara, Keoda, Quandra, Riara, Cheyenne, Christina, Scherelle, Kwana, Briana, Amanda, Carla, Carl, Ny’Angel, Keyshonna, Rokeshia, Zollie Lagrand II, Zollie James, Anthony Lenard, Jr., Brandon, Bryon, Rivas II, Retravis, Rivarius, Kijuan, Ja’Vonte, Corey, Jaylin, Jarquavis, Jamar, Quan, Greg II, Justin, Cyril II, Marshawn and Clayton; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Johnson and Bertha Harris; brothers, Louis Stewart and Walter Stewart; sisters-in-law, Lillie Mae Harris and Johnnie Mae Wooten; brother-in-law, Lucious (Sharon) Floyd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zollie and Siller Stewart; wife, Mae Ella Stewart; sisters, Irene Barnes, Catherine Walker, Lillian Stewart and Myrtle Howard; and grandchild, Rivonna Stewart.
