Mrs. Alsie Davis

January 31, 1937 - June 8, 2022

Mrs. Alsie Mae Davis was born January 31, 1937 in Verbena, Alabama the daughter of Alice Anderson and John Charles Darby. She passed away on June 8, 2022 at the age of 85 years. Mrs. Davis was a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan and a member of Spiritual Macedonia Baptist Church. After graduating from high school, she continued her education earning a Nursing Degree. She gained employment with a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the State of Michigan. Her hobbies included, reading, sewing, playing bingo and she enjoyed helping others. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Derrick Louis Davis and one daughter, Annette Marie Sunday; one granddaughter, Alonda Latasha Silvia, Saginaw; one great-grandchild, Hayden Silvia; many nieces including a special niece, Angela Sunday Cobb; many nephews, including special nephew, Larry Walton; special cousin, Nettie Jean Varner and a host of other cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Louis Davis; parents, John “JC” Darby and Alice Bell Anderson; step-father, Sam Cunningham; sisters, Elnora Moore, Clara A. Anderson, Annie McQueen, Hattie Bell Steele, Linda Holifield, and Bettie Jean Cunningham; brothers, Jimmy Lee Wilson and Bud Walton, Jr.; aunts, Callie, and Mattie Will; an uncle, Mack Anderson; father and mother-in-law, John Davis and Lara Harris; brother-in-law, Lerory Short and a special friend, Dorothy Moore. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Charlotte Yang, MD, Annie’s Home Care, Spiritual Macedonia Baptist Church and Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Spiritual Macedonia Baptist Church, 641 N. 4th St., Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Marcallus Sunday will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington, Saginaw, Michigan 48601.
