Our mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend Mrs. Annie Mae Parham-Davis passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Covenant Medical Center, age 84 years. She was born to John T. Parham, Sr. and Lillie (Washington) Parham on December 13, 1935 in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. Annie Mae attended school in Bolivar County, Mississippi. She later joined family members who migrated north for work. She moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1950 where she met and married Mr. Gus Davis on August 19, 1953. Annie Mae accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Burt, MI where Rev. Albert Haynes, Jr. is Pastor. Our mother never met a stranger, she loved people and always opened her home to those in need. She was a stay at home mom who enjoyed her family and friends. She was a self-taught, skilled hairdresser. Annie Mae loved and enjoyed wearing beautiful clothes, shoes and hats to finish off her lovely ensembles. She was known to be very fashionable. Annie Mae leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, and four sons, Loretta Davis, Saginaw, MI; Anthony (Denice) Davis, Columbus, OH, Mark (Pamela) Davis, Dallas, TX, Tyrone Davis and Ricky (Tammi) Davis, all of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren she helped raise, Dremont Davis, Billy D. Buirel, Ciara Davis and Olivia Miller, all of Saginaw, other grandchildren, Alfred Davis, Trefon (Monique) Davis, Michael (Darlene) Davis, Joi (Eugene) Cannaday, Demarcus (Adina) Baty, Donte Grannison, Lesslie “JR” Quarles, Markeshia Maddox, Torrian (MarShaun) Atkins, Ricky (Alissa) Ball-Davis, Rineshie Ball-Davis, Xenovia and Shelisa Ball, and Sparkle L. Davis; 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John T. Parham, .Jr., Burt, MI; foster son, Paul Lewis; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Frank and Mattie Moore and Mrs. Emma Hawkins. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Davis in 2008; her parents, John T. and Lilly Parham; one son, Demetrius Davis; four brothers, William, Ernest, Percy and Charlie Parham; four sisters, Ruby and Polly Parham, Dorothy P. Kemp and Lillie “LA” McKnight; grandson, Devon Stinson; great-granddaughter, Destiny Davis; mother and father-in-law, Pearl (Hermon) Mount and John P. Davis; three sisters-in-law, Annie M. Parham, Gladys Parham and Beverly Bailey; and numerous other family members and friends. The family wishes to thank Ms. Angie Duncan, Edith Coleman and Health Resource Solutions, Theresa Chorenk, R.N. Visitation will take place from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020, at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. A private funeral will be held. Pastor Albert Haynes, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601.
