Our dearest father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend passed away on September 6, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Bernard often referred to as “Buddy” Patton was born August 19, 1938 in Harrisburg, Illinois to James and Lucille Patton. Buddy was one of eight children. The Patton family moved to Saginaw, Michigan in May of 1941. In 1956 “Buddy” graduated from Saginaw High School and joined the United States Marines Corp. serving during the Vietnam War. He married Jan Taylor, and to this union four children were born, Marc, Marcy and Roderick (Ricky) and Lisa Patton. After his divorce, he shared a loving relationship with Kristine Conley and they were blessed with three sons, Bernard, Robert and Allen Conley. Buddy enjoyed running, photography, traveling, gardening and most outdoor activities. He especially loved grilling in the summer with the self-proclaimed, “Best BBQ Ribs in Town”. Buddy leaves to cherish his life, seven children; three sisters, Nell Kelly, his twin, Bernice Scott and Linda Perkins; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille Patton; siblings, William, Jimmy, Bethany and Jerry; brother-in-law, Clarence Scott. Visitation will take place from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. A private funeral will be held. Pastor Dennis Laffoon will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442.
