Our cherished mother, Blanche Clark, born April 14, 1942 made her transition February 16, 2021 from body to spirit at 78 years. She went home to be with our Lord and to be reunited with our beloved grandmother. Blanche was an active member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years where she served part of her tenure as the Financial Secretary. She attended Delta College where she studied Business Administration. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in 2018 where she served in the role of Social Worker. Blanche was a staunch community advocate and held several prestigious positions and received numerous awards. She served on the Board of Directors for several organizations such as the Underground Railroad, Ruben Daniels Educational Foundation, Nursing Association, Boys and Girls Club/Mayor’s Crime Task Force; Saginaw Economic Development Corporation, Michigan National Bank and Great Lakes College Foundation. She also served as NAACP Assistant Treasurer, Saginaw City Council Board Member and Saginaw Transit Authority and Regional Services Board Member and Community Mediator for Mid-Michigan Dispute Resolution Center. In 1997 she received a special tribute from the State of Michigan by being honored by the Top Ladies of Distinction for her efforts in the local community. One of her most prestigious accomplishment came in November of 1999 when she received special recognition from the Mayor and City Manager of Saginaw for being recognized as the 21st Century Woman’s Club “Woman of the Year”. In her spare time, Blanche was an avid reader and relished spending time with her family and traveling. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Iwanna Hill, Saginaw, MI, Gary L. Clark, (Vicki), Hiram, GA, Stewart A. Clark, Sr. (Greta), Austell, GA and Brian A. Clark, Minneapolis, MN; ten grandchildren, Christopher A. and Joshua L. Cark both of Madison, WI, Stewart A. Clark Jr. and Allison N. Clark both of Austell, GA, Tywaunne L. Hill, Cedar Rapids, IA, Gary L. Clark, Jr., Hiram, GA, Taylor Dyson, Dallas, TX, Brianna Clark, Charlotte, NC, Stephen Hill, Saginaw, MI and Erica Hill, Dallas, TX; ten great-grandchildren, Skylar, Khari, Layla, Saxton, Emeri, Avery, RayEn, Ar’Ricia, Ar’Teriah and My’Eriohence; one brother-in-law, Gary Hunt, Sr.; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Lily Dixon, Thresa Plowden, Liz Franklin, Debbie Schmolitz and Susan Engel. She was preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Hall Robinson. Visitation will take place from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. A private funeral service will be held. Pastor Rodrick A. Smith will officiate with interment in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum, 5950 Gratiot Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48638.
