Mr. David Louis Thompson

Mr. David Louis Thompson was born June 1, 1954 in Rural Kewanee, Missouri to Rosie Mae Cook and J D Jordan. He passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the age of 67 years. David was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan and a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1974”. He loved the Lord and visited many churches. David worked his bible commentary every day. He enjoyed attending bible study. He loved listening to music and watching NASCAR Races. He studied Auto Mechanics while attending Delta College. His career in sewing began after attending sewing classes at Joann Fabrics. He was very creative with his sewing skills; he sold little dresses for Africa and made quilts, he also sewed little gowns for the Neo-Natal Unit of Covenant Hospital. He loved going to garage sales to find good deals on designer purses for his sisters and nieces. He was a very compassionate man. David loved doing good deeds for many people. He was a very funny man he made every one laugh. To cherish many memories, David leaves eight sisters, Bertha Rodgers, Mary Thomas, Barbara Washington, Sharon (Elaine) Mack, Cary Bee Reed, Irma Jordan, Charlene Payne and Alberta; one brother, Elvis; aunts, Fannie (David) Handley, Annyce (Dennis) Luckett, Ann Harper and Madam Collins; uncles, James (Marcy) Cook, L C (Dorothy) Cook, Melvin Cook and Robert (Georgia) Cook; nieces, Chanda Thompson, Jessica (Koffi) Hovi, Travanda Thomas, Jacqueline Ross, Shatara Thomas, Brianna Davis, Syrina Johnson; nephews, Titus Bowman IV and Joseph Ross, Jr.; great-great-nieces, and nephews; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Sally Landeryou, Sandy Bludson and family, Sonja Brown and family, Cleveland and Modina Williamson and family and Julio Rodrigez. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rosie Washington and John “J D” Jordan; grandmothers, Willie Lee Cook and Alberta Jordan; grandfathers, John Jordan and Harper Cook; brothers, Willie James Cook, Johnny Jordan, Randall and Donnell Wilderness; uncle, Milton Waters;nephew, Steven Johnson and brother-in-law, Tommy Thomas. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Jr., will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
