Earline Haynes was born in Dublin, Mississippi on July 17, 1933; her birth certificate states, July 18, 1933 to Johnny Jones and Mae Francis (Gallion) Jones. She passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the age of 87 years.. At the age of 13, Earline’s mother died leaving behind nine children, six were younger than Earline the baby was eleven months old. To help raise her siblings, she had to grow up fast. Earline met Edward Haynes II, they were married on Christmas Day, in 1951. To that union four children were born, Doristene, Kenneth, Gwendolyn and Brandon. Edward preceded her in death in June 2010. Earline was baptized at the age 10 or 11, and joined Hebrew Baptist Church where her mother was a member. Wherever Earline lived, she always found a church home. She moved from St. Louis in 1964 and soon after joined Tabernacle Baptist Church where she maintained her membership for many, many years. She would later join Messiah Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, President and member of Messiah Outreach Ministry. Mrs. Haynes worked various jobs from being a restaurant cook to doing hotel laundry. She loved to watch game shows, do word search puzzles, work in the yard, talk on the phone with her sister (and roast people). She possessed a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and cracking jokes. Earline enjoyed reading her Bible and sharing “The Good News” with others. She leaves to cherish many memories two daughters and two sons, Doristene Haynes, Lansing, MI, Kenneth G. Haynes, Saginaw, MI, Gwendolyn S. Haynes, Germantown, TN and Brandon Z. Haynes, Saginaw, MI; 11 grandchildren; Lamar, and Arnisha Simon, Quinton McClure, Kenneth, Latiesha, Raynida, Brianna, Bryce and Brandice Haynes, DaQuavion Williams and TaTyanna Young; 11 great-grandchildren, LaMariana Nevaeh and Alvin Simon, A’Vearii McCray, DaeLynne and Damier Gunn, Gage and A’Nara Tucker, Blu and Paris Williams, and Case Haynes; eight sisters, Dorothy Carter, Chicago, IL, Louis Mae Banks, Mamie Walton, both of Bronx, NY, Lois A. Jones, St. Louise, MO, Helen, Carol and Linda Jones all of Frairs Point, MS and Nora Lee Moton, West Helena, AR; brothers, Joe Jones, Winstonville, MS,, Edward Jones, Chicago, IL, Melvin Jones and Antonio Jones both of Frairs Point, MS, and HJ Harris, Clarksdale, MS; two brothers-in-law, Leo Acklin, St. Louis, MO and Larry Walton, Bronx, NY, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends Vera Parks, Sarah Canty, Sherman Richardson, the Mission Outreach Ministry and the Sunday School Department. Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Hammer” Haynes; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her parents, Johnny and Mae Frances Jones, step-mother, Odessa Jones; brothers, Johnny Jones, Marshall E. Jones and Bobbie Jones; step-brother, Clevestor Williams; many aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Messiah Missionary Baptist Church family, the staff of Covenant Medical Center and the many, many family members and friends. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 2615 Williamson Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Pastor Otis Washington will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
