Ms. Elizabeth Jean Jackson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and mostly a “Woman of Virtue” quietly closed the book and went home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the age of 72 years. Elizabeth Jean Taylor was born December 10, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan to Samuel and Virginia Taylor. Lizzie graduated from Buena Vista High School in 1968 followed by marrying Otis W. Jackson, Sr. in 1969, together they shared three beautiful children. She was a devoted Certified Nursing Assistant working ten years for St. Mary’s Hospital. Lizzie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor R.B. Austin at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Lizzie was a woman of integrity, courage, strength, compassion, wisdom and loyalty, though there are not enough words to describe her character. Out of all roles she performed for her family, she was God sent for many others as a loving and caring friend, and for some a role model. Lizzie tried to help everyone and opened her home to all, and no one left with an empty stomach. As we turn the pages on Lizzie’s book, it would tell of our successes and disappointments we faced, our joyous and sad times we shared. Page after page would read about how she served and loved her master! She was ever ready, willing to give her time and cooking talents to those in need. Lizzie spoke what was on her mind, good and bad! She led a life so noble, kind and true. She had her favorite saying, “I had to get back”, if you heard this phrase during a conversation, she was letting you know someone got told off. Taking care of family was her greatest joy. She will be sadly missed. We celebrate her freedom from this mortal prison, no more pain, no more confusion, no more loneliness. She is free to go and spread her wings. The deeds left behind will live on each day. Ms. Elizabeth Jean Jackson leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Otis W. Jackson II (Archia) Saginaw; two daughters, Veliria Jackson, Tolleson, AZ and Sade Jackson, Saginaw; three granddaughters, Kiauna Doss, LaTia Jackson and Tiauna Pratt all of Saginaw; five grandsons, Donnell DaVon Sample, Tolleson, AZ, Javari Jackson (Kelsey) Arlington, TX, Otis W. Jackson III, Saginaw, Antonyo M. Boone and Christian Boone Tolleson, AZ; four great-grandchildren, Kamariaee’ and Kailynn Washington, Cali Williams, Saginaw and Denim Sample, Tolleson, AZ; one sister, Linda Mays (Damond) Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Gregory Taylor, Saginaw; an uncle, Roger Taylor, Saginaw; nieces, Tonia Jackson, TX , Shawn Cage, Saginaw, Charine Brownlee (Corey), Fort Wayne, IN, LaTasha Mays Causey (Van), Phoenix, AZ, Sparkles Taylor, Saginaw; nephews, Damond Mays, Jr. (Bahia), Phoenix, AZ, Demont Mack (LaJoyce), Saginaw, Sammy Taylor III, Florida, Kenny Taylor, Fort Wayne, IN, Nolan Taylor (Karrie), Ohio, a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins including special cousins, Charles Taylor (Nola), Saginaw, Rochelle Jones, Swartz Creek, other relatives and friends including special friends Donna Sanders (James), Thelma Jasper, Maddie Welch and too many other friends to mention. Lizzie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Virginia Taylor; two brothers, Sammy Taylor, Jr. and David I. Taylor. “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe in me.” John 14:1-3 Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Dr. Willie F. Casey will officiate. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
