Pastor Emeritus Earnest Lee Brown passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the age of 97 years. He was born October 27, 1923 in Minter, Dallas County, Alabama. He was the oldest of ten children born to the late George and Louisiana Brown. He married the love of his life, Ethel Mae Stewart in 1944. Pastor Brown accepted Christ at a very young age and served Him faithfully throughout his life. He was a visionary. God spoke to him about being a founder of a church in the community, to serve those needing the Light of God! He was the founder and Pastor of United Missionary Baptist Church where he served as pastor for 37 years before retirement. He also served in many capacities and auxiliaries in the church, community and the Saginaw Valley Baptist District Association. He served as a mentor to many young Ministers and Pastors early in their ministry to preach God’s Word at United; to afford them the opportunity to gain experience to preach. Pastor Brown was Honorably Discharged from the United States Navy and worked at Grey Iron Foundry, GM and was a member of UAW Local 668 in Saginaw, MI prior to retiring to devote his time to serve God and his Ministry. Pastor Emeritus Brown, leaves to cherish his precious memory, three daughters and one son, Cosetta Henley, Amanda (Wade) Cashaw, Jacqueline (James) Thomas all of Saginaw, MI and Philip Brown of Defiance, OH; grandchildren, Deborah A. Brown (JD) Davis of Atlanta, GA, Terri Lynn Johnson (Wendell) Prude of California, Ronda (Clifford) Banks of Atlanta, GA, Troy A. (Charlene) Johnson of St. Paul, MN, Tiffany (Akili) Dolley of Jackson, MI, Lisa (Mark) Rollins of Alabama, Brian (Christina ) Henley of Atlanta, GA, Stacey Feagin of Las Vegas, NV, Jason Feagin of Saginaw, MI and Latosha (Don) Perry of Saginaw, MI, Jimmie Brown, Saginaw, MI, Kenyatta Thomas of Tennessee, Felicia Truss, and Vera Avery both of Saginaw, MI; 21 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; a very special sister, Ethel Mae Drain; two brothers, Pastor Arthur (Annie) Brown of Alabama, and James (Mary) Brown of Saginaw, MI; brother-in-law, Henry Hines; son-in-law, Will Feagin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Pastor and Sis. Willie Jones of Chicago, IL, Pastor Jackson of New Friendship Baptist Church, Pastor Otis and Sis. Washington of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, and Pastor and Sister Tatum of Shiloh Baptist Church. Pastor Brown was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel Mae Brown; daughter, Vivian E. Feagin; two sons, Timothy Brown and Olee Brown; grandson, Craig Henley; great-grandson, Donald Nelly Perry, Jr.; parents, George and Louisiana Brown; six sisters, Rev. Mary Pierce, Rev. Willie Mae Harvey, Carrie Hines, Jenetta Miller, Liz Foster and Helen Anderson; brother, Willie Tampa Brown. The family would like to thank the staff of Medilodge of Frankenmuth, Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home and all family and friends for calls, cards, flowers and prayers during our time of need. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at United Missionary Baptist Church, 4290 Lamson Street, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Rev. Cedric Nickson, Pastor and Pastor Otis Washington officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Tuesday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
