Evangelist Frank McKether Jr.

Evangelist Frank McKether, Jr. passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 due to cardiac arrest at the age of 65 years. He was born June 30, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan and was a lifelong resident. Frank graduated from Saginaw High School in 1972 and retired from Saginaw Steering Gear Div. GM in 1992 after 20 years of dedicated service. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 21, as a highly anointed man of God, Frank was on fire for God. He daily spread the Gospel to all whom he came in contact with and spent the majority of his adult life saving and winning souls for Christ. His daughters affectionately referred to him as a “social butterfly”. Frank would even talk to a stranger as if he had known him/her all of his life and he loved to talk about various issues with anyone in his presence. He was a self-taught photographer and his wife Elaine encouraged him to take a photographer's course to enhance his work. Overtime, he developed his skills as an excellent photographer with an eye for detail and quality in pictures. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on computers and doing repair and maintenance. He was a caring, loving, dedicated, generous, and gregarious man, husband, father, brother, and friend. He married Elaine Price on June 23, 1979 and they were married for 39 years. He leaves to cherish his memory, to his wife, Elaine McKether, Saginaw, MI; three daughters; Chimere McKether,of Brooklyn, NY, Tiffany McKether, and Quentina McKether, both of Saginaw, MI.; six siblings; Myra Pamela Perryman of Montgomery, AL, Frederick McKether of Saginaw, MI, Kenneth (Charlene) McKether of Dale City, VA, Dr. Willie McKether of Toledo, OH, Tracey (Robert) Brown of Atlanta, GA and Anne Marie (Kenny) Patrick of Saginaw, MI; sisters-in-law, Oracene Price of CA, Vickie Price of Lansing, MI and Ruth (Robert) Curry of Saginaw, MI; brothers-in-law, Albert (Jean) Snead of Ypsilanti, MI, Hubert Pete and Anthony, both of Saginaw, MI; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friends, including Jessie Morris, Pastor James Lewis, Elder Trice, Brother Strickland, and Samiuel Hall; he had a special relationship with his uncle, Tommy Allen, which he referred to as “unc”. Mr. McKether was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma McKether, Sr.; biological mother, Jean Thrasher; sister, Fannie Argurs; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ora Lee Price and Albert Price, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Joel, Melvin, Albert III and Jay Price. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. Luke C.M.E. Church, 1121 Tuscola Street, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Pastor Joyce Redfearn will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
