Mr. Jesse James "Tee" Jones

Mr. Jesse J. Jones Sr. (lovingly known as Tee) passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Saginaw, MI., he was 88 years old. Jesse was born July 16, 1934, to Carl and Bertha Mae Jones in Birdsong, Arkansas. He was the oldest son of 9 siblings. Jesse grew up and attended school in Birdsong, Arkansas. As a young man he joined The United States Armed Forces, Army branch, and was stationed in White Sands, New Mexico. After returning from the military Jesse met and married, Amy Lee (Willis) Jones, to their union 5 children were born, Kenneth Ray “Kenny Ray”, Nathaniel “Joe”, Carlton Len “Carl”, Willis Sylvester, and Amy Lovell “Little Amy” Jones. Jesse loved life and his large, extended family, being around him was always a celebration. He took great pride and joy loving on his family, cooking for them he was such an awesome cook. He loved dining on Fish dinners which is another reason why he had such. great love for the peace and calm of fishing, whether in his boat or on the bank. He loved traveling and exploring new places. Jesse Jones leaves to cherish sweet memories: sons, Kenneth Ray (Tonya Byrd) Jones of Houston, TX., Carlton Len (Cynthia) Jones of Omaha, NE., and Willis Sylvester Jones of Saginaw, MI; he took great pride in having 23 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; two loving sisters, Madeline “Lexi” (Phil) Bosquet of Saginaw, MI., and Helen (James) Weems of Saginaw, MI; one loving brother, Reginald (Phyllis) Jones of Memphis, TN; many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Jesse Jones was proceeded in death by beautiful wife, Amy Lee Jones; his parents, Carl and Bertha Jones; children; Jesse J Jones Jr, Nathaniel Jones, and Amy Lovell (Jones) Spiller; one grandson, J’Monte’ St. Charles Byrd; one granddaughter, Valentina Jones; one great-grandson, Jacobi Washington; four sisters, Lillie Jones, Mary Frances Thomas, Verna Mae Smith, and Lucille Reynolds and one brother, Rickey Nash; one niece, Laura Reynolds and 2 nephews, Jimmie Reynolds and the nephew that was more like a brother, Larry Jones. Special thanks and gratitude to sister, Helen and Brother-in-law, James Weems for your love, support, visitations and assistance to our father, Jesse. We love you and thank you. Also, special thanks and gratitude to granddaughters, Vanessa Hunt, Katoria Crawford, Nikki Hunt, Leslie Hunt and Kenneshia Washington for your visits, running errands and rendering care and support to your grandfather, Jesse, your family loves and appreciates you all. Heartfelt thanks to close friends Geraldine Frazier, Sheronne Jackson and Ricky Brown, along with his Lamson Street neighbors, the medical staff of Covenant Hospital, Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Pastor Tatum and the New Life Baptist Church, Saginaw, MI. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
