Mr. Keith El Toro Brown

Mr. Keith El’Toro Brown gained his heavenly wings on August 6, 2022, at the age of 72 years. God opened the gates of Heaven for the beloved servant, and he took his place in the heavenly choir to eternally sing praises to his Father. He was born on July 12, 1950 to the late Myrtle Clarke and Ernest Brown in New York. Keith graduated from Saginaw High School in 1969. He was employed by General Motors until his retirement in 1980, with an A rating as a Grinder, and was a member of the UAW local number 668. Keith accepted Christ as his Lord and personal savior at the early age of 12, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church since 1970. He was also a Sunday school member, sang with the Chancellor Choir, Bowman Gospel Chorus where he was lead soloist; and a faithful member of the Cup of Water Committee. He loved music, but his first love was “Gospel Music.” Songs he sang were, “Just Another Day that the Lord Has Kept Me,” and “Yes, God Is Real.” God bestowed upon Keith Brown the gift of love and to be loved by everyone. One of his favorite quotes was, “If I can help somebody, then my living will not be in vain.” His message to everyone is, “Do not mourn for me, for I have lived my life to the fullest, with love, peace, and happiness. Now I am resting in God’s eternal care”. He tried to be a blessing to everyone he came into contact with. He was always careful to give God the praise and glory, for he alone is worthy. He learned from an early age to put God first, others second, and himself last. His favorite scriptures are found in the 150th Book of Psalms. Keith leaves to rejoice in his homegoing and to cherish precious memories, four sisters, Yvette Jones, Sonja Brown, Hyacinth Robinson, and Deborah Henry (all of Saginaw, MI), and one brother Wayne (Roxie) Lampkin, Saginaw, MI. many nieces and nephews including special nieces: Takesha (Theotis – Honey) Essex, Dimple Wicker, Antoinette Adams, Deidre Hunter, Vivian Sharper, Takesha Jones, Terrie Robinson and Shontrell (Johnny) Simmons. Nephews: Albert (Takai) Jones Jr., Antwone Jones, Dante Jones, Jamil Brown, Dion Robinson, Deandre Robinson, Stanley Brown Jr, Eric Wicker, and Karl Brown Jr. cousins: Mrs. Norma Barnes and family in the St Croix Virgin Island, also other cousins in Gingerland Nevis; British West Indies. Special cousins the Brooks family. Many special relatives, church family, and friends, including Alma “Doris” (Corsemore) Collier, Lois Dale, Chondeleea Jones, Chandra Pope, and family. Two sisters in Christ, Martha Lockhart, and Elaine Jackson. Three brothers in Christ, Derek Mason, Houston Jackson Jr. and Joseph Washington. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Mrs. Lillian Foreman; Mother, Myrtle Robinson; Step-father, Eugene Robinson; two brothers: Karl Brown and Stanley Brown; two sisters, Renea Hunter and Dwandra Moton; three brothers-in-law, Albert Jones Sr., Billie Henry and McArthur Sanders; spiritual mother, Mrs. Sarah Nell Jones; God sister Carol Mason, and brother in Christ, Corsemore Collier. God decided and sent his angels to escort him home. He was a shining example of love, peace, happiness, and faith. Many specials thanks to Takesha Essex, Lois Dale, Bethel A.M.E. Church, and Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. The family will be present to greet friends beginning at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607 with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Pastor Dennis Laffoon will officiate with Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601.
