Ms. Lena Mae Green Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ms. Lena Mae Green was born August 15, 1947 in Camden, Arkansas, the daughter of Horace and Gustavia Green. She passed away on July 1, 2022 at the age of 74 years.. After relocating to Saginaw, Michigan she united with Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Lena was employed at The Saginaw Civic Center (Dow Event Center) for many years. After many years of service, she retired from the Saginaw Public School District. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family (especially fried chicken) and taking care of her grandchildren. Her favorite past time was watching game shows, two were her most favorite; Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud. She was also the “Neighborhood Mom” that everyone loved. She leaves to mourn, four children, Anna “Tina” Green of Fort Worth, TX, Raymond Green (Rachel), Tanya and Shameca Green, all of Saginaw, MI; three god-children, Franklin Parker, David Southworth and Kaliah Parker; grandchildren, Tianna Green of Fort Worth, TX, Rayshodd Douglass, Tony David, Tyler Green, Melina Brookins, Braylon Green, McKenize Brookins and Keith Brookins, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Zamariya Henix, Andreis and Ariaha Douglass, Zaria Cannon and Joshua Douglass; sisters, Bertha Lee Tellis and Helen Browning, both of Saginaw, MI and Lou Weaver of Texarkana, TX; sister-in-law, Ruby Jean Green of Camden, AR; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends including Undra Jackson and Elaine Jones. Ms. Green was preceded in death by parents, Horace and Gustavia Green; siblings, Geneval (Tom) Willis, Leonard Gene Green, Marietta (Joe) Watson, Melvin (Theore) Green, Horace Green and Willie Mae Davis. The family would like to express special thanks to Brian’s House , Lindy at Covenant Visiting Nurses Association. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 810 Cathay Street, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Pastor Blake Strozier will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
