June 30, 1951 - September 23, 2021
Olivia Kathy Jones was born on June 30, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of John and Claudy Green. She passed away September 23, 2021 at the age of 70 years. Olivia Kathy Jones “Chat” to most, enjoyed many things such as playing cards, spades, tunk, etc. If there was a card game count on “Chat” would be present. She’d even pull a deck out, play by herself. She also enjoyed shopping of course. She would find any reason to buy something, anything, for any reason she could think of to go to a store. Kathy was a horror movie fanatic; she had every horror movie you could think of on VHS. So, you remember renting movies from the video store on weekends, right? Well, she had her own video store in her home and you could rent them for free. She kept the movies in order by name and number in a locked cabinet. She had a book; she would cross your name and title off in her book that’s how she kept track of her movies. Now if you never returned them, I’m sure you weren’t allowed to borrow them again (the memories). She also loved to travel, listen, if you were going, she was going. She didn’t care how long or where to, but she was going. She was many things but one thing family and those close to her know she had a kind heart. She would help just-about anyone if they asked and she would, with or without the mean stare. She was 100% loyal and faithful to her family and household 24/7 easily and that can’t be debated. Kathy was indeed blessed to see her first great-grand, T’Laiya who she loved so much. I mean, to see her light up just talking about her baby was a sight to see. You could really see the joy in her face every time. Man priceless! We’ll miss that smile and excitement she had for them babies. Olivia leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Nekeba (Artavious) Carter and one son, Isaac Barnes both of Saginaw, MI; nine grandchildren, Tyrus, Enchantress Laron and Amarion Williams, Jurnee, Artavius, Jr., and Nekailah Carter, Tacara and Shacara Goodwine all of Saginaw; three great-grandchildren, T’Laiya, Tanaja Williams and Cai’den Bibbs; two brothers, Johnny (Shirley) Green and Charles Green; unclews, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives including special grandson, “Tae Tae” and great-niece, Shantoria “Pooh”; special family cousins, Barbara Harris, Peggie and Lavern Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Jones; daughter, Martha Williams; brothers, John Green, Jr. and James Smith. The family would like to express thanks to Ascension St. Mary’s Medical staff and Neuro Surgeon Dr. Mbabuike. Extended Thanks Sometimes life put us in situations when you have to realize what we “Got, “Had” and “Need”. I often say what I don’t need, a lot more often that what I do need. The truth is, I need you all. Without the over pour of love and support I don’t think I would have made it this far. The constant push from this family, I really Thank You. I thank you for making this day the best memory. Now I can’t say you’ll see me again after today but, please know that I love and appreciate you all. Each one of you played a different role with getting me here in my “Got” and” Need”. I’m not sure what a lot of this mean, as for my life, but I do know “Life must go on”. We are all here on borrowed time!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you all deeply. From my close circle all the way around to my extended family in love. I thank you all. Thank you, thank you, Thank you!
