Mr. Reubin L. Marselis, Jr.

September 14, 1948 - April 3, 2022

Mr. Reubin Lee Marselis, Jr. was born September 14, 1948 in Muskegon, Michigan the son of Reubin and Vera (Walker) Marselis, Sr. He passed away at his home on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at the age of 73 years. Reubin was a graduate of Arthur Hill Technical High School “Class of 1967”. He served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargeant and received an Honorable Discharge. He was employed at Grey Iron GM Plant and was a member UAW Local 668. Reubin also worked several other jobs including the Saginaw Board of Education from where he retired. He was an active member of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and as Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School. He enjoyed working on his race car and going to the race track. He enjoyed cracking jokes, eating and shopping. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The term of endearment for their grandfather was “Big Pimpin”. Reubin enjoyed being fashionable; he was a smooth dresser. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Paquitta Campbell and Andrea Laury both of Saginaw, MI; daughter-in-law, Debbie Campbell; grandchildren, Ashante’ Laury, Desmond Quincy Laury II, Brandi Ambus, Ashari McCray-Laury, Jaylen Audry, Carlos Campbell, Bronvic Turner II, Catera Campbell and Ajahlee Spinner; great-grandchildren, Desmond III, Alijzah, Daylen, Alaijah, Kinsley and Atira; three sisters, Bertha Marselis, Seattle, Washington, Rosalind (Lonnie) Scott, Saginaw and Lois Wicker, Atlanta, GA; one brother, Ras (Linda) Marselis; a host of aunts; sisters-in-law, Diana and Patty Burns; brothers-in-law, Dan (Etta) Burns, Leon (Dorothy) Burns, Robert Campbell and DeWitt (Toni) Campbell; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, other relatives and friends. Reubin was preceded in death by “The Love of his Life” his wife, Dorothy Mae Marselis; daughters, Raquel Campbell, Sonja Ezette Marselis; son, Carlos Campbell; great-granddaughter, Azhariah McCray-Laury and his parents, Reubin, Sr. and Vera Marselis. The family would like to express special thanks to Desmond Quincy Laury II, Deluxe Dry Cleaners and Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Roy Manning will officiate with interment in Great Lake National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.
