Ms. Sterline Mitchell

October 31, 1945 - January 19, 2021

Sterline “Dooley” Mitchell was born October 31, 1945 in Bessemer, Alabama. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the age of 75 years. Sterline lived briefly in Baltimore, Maryland before relocating her family to Saginaw, Michigan. She was the proud mother of three children; Anthony, Yolanda and Cameron Mitchell. She loved cooking, but especially loved baking cakes. She made an out of this world coconut pineapple and pound cake. She often gifted cakes to her church, family and friends. Her other interests were gardening and sewing. She spent many hours at JoAnn’s looking for material for her sewing projects. Sterline was an avid conversationalist and loved laughter, she loved listening to the blues and watching her movies: Westerns, James Bond and Black Panther. She worked at Aubrey’s Cleaners, Holiday Inn and as a city bus driver for STARS. She was a foster parent to many children throughout the years making a positive impact in their lives during their darkest times. She leaves to remember her; daughter, Yolanda Cole (Gregory) of Grand Ledge, MI; one son, Cameron Mitchell; grandchildren, Shonte’ Cole, Brittany Cole, Cameron Mitchell, Jr. and Xavier Durham; special cousin, Geraldine Drain and other relatives and friends. Ms. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; one son and one grandson. Memories of our mom, and grandmother will long be cherished. A private service will take place. Pastor Eddie Bragg will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601.
