Mr. Tony Edward Saunders

June 26, 1954 - June 17, 2022

God stretched his hand to reclaim his angel our beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Tony Edward Saunders on June 17, 2022 at his residence at the age of 67 years. Tony was born to Velvet Bigbee and Sam Carver on June 26, 1954 in Switchback, West Virginia. Tony worked at the Malleable Iron Plant GM for 30 plus years and was a member of UAW Local 455. He belonged to several organizations such as United Way, NAACP, was part owner of Wonderland Beauty Supply and a board member for Healthformation 4U (a community-based organization dedicated to raising awareness for health and medical issues impacting our community). Tony loved music, dancing, concerts and spending time with family including friends that loved him. He leaves to cherish many memories, one son, Aaron (Faten) Latimer, Sr.; three sisters, Shirley Taylor, Brenda (David, a special brother-in-law) and Berta Ford; grandchildren; several nieces, Ivey Atkinson, Mia Taylor, Taylor Winters; several nephews, Jamiece Taylor, Tim Terrentine, David Jr., Brandon and Joshua Moore; special cousin, Bertha Bell; special brothers/friends, Emanuel McGlothin, Lamar Kimble, Angelous Guillory (AKA the five Heartbeats), Willie Reed, Jerome Buckley and Maurice Jackson; other relatives and friends. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Velvet Bigbee and Sam Carver; grandparents, Thomas Edward Saunders, Elihue and Berta Myers; a brother, James Taylor; one aunt, Selma Grays; two uncles, Alphonso and Ronald Jamison; special cousins, Carolyn Seay, Byron Montrel and Arianna Box. The family would like to thank everyone for all the love that has been shown. God bless each and every one of you. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor James Snead will officiate.
