Mrs. Torrie Michelle Hinton

Mrs. Torrie Michelle (Williams) Hinton, age 38, departed this life on December 11, 2016. She was born May 15, 1978 in Saginaw, Michigan to George and Dorothy (Sanders) Williams, Sr. She resided in Grand Rapids, MI. Mrs. Hinton was a member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church where she formerly sang in the Millennial Choir. She was a graduate of the Arthur Hill High School Class of 1996. Torrie was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Del Sprite Youth Group. She received an Associate’s Degree in Clerical Administration from Delta College. She leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Darnell Hinton, Sr.; two daughters, D’Nae & D’yannie Hinton; one son, Darnell Hinton, Jr., all of Saginaw, MI; parents, George and Dorothy Williams; brother, George (Lucretia) Williams, Jr., all of Saginaw, MI; sister, Carla Bingdham of Houston, TX; aunts, Queen Mouton, of New Orleans, LA, Mary (Jack) Henry, Robin Williams, Genna Williams, Bea Smith, Las Vegas, NV, Vivian (Joe) Howard, Ruthie Smith, Carrie (Clyde) Tolliver, Saginaw, MI, Louella (Alphonso) Taylor, Judy (Lydell) Smith, Shreveport, LA and Velma (Robert) Wilson; uncles, Jimmie (Sharon) Sanders, Roger Sanders, of Saginaw, MI, Archie Sanders, Jr., Ray (Bertha) Williams of Las Vegas, NV, Ezell (Evelyn) Williams, Cleveland Williams, of New Orleans, LA, Roy (Sabrina) Sanders of West Bloomfield, MI, Jake (Geraldine) Williams, Flint, MI; a host of other relatives and friends, including a special cousin, Lacrecia Howard; special friends, Rene Boykins, Ta-Tanesha Dillard and Ma-ya Brown. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Archie & Blanchie Sanders and Earl & Mary Williams; uncles, Timothy Sanders, Earl Williams, Jr.; one aunt, Margaret Hunter. The family wishes to express special thanks to Rev. Dr. Marvin T. (First Lady Omie) Smith and the Mt. Olive Church Family, Rev. Larry (Vanessa) Allen, Officer Whalen of the Grand Rapids Police Department and the staff of Blocett Hospital of Grand Rapids, MI. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 North 6th Street. Dr. Marvin T. Smith will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
