Mr. Victor Lee Morris
February 23, 1933 - January 28, 2022
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the age of 88 years. Victor Lee Morris was born in Homer, Louisiana on February 23, 1933, son of the late Sidney and Fannie Pearl Morris. Victor was a veteran of the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged after two years of service. He resided in several locations including Louisiana, California and Michigan. He came to Saginaw, Michigan in the 1950’s. Over his lifetime, Victor worked various jobs. His last employment was with General Motors, Malleable Division at which he worked as a machinist in the pattern shop among other jobs. He retired on January 1, 2000 with 50.6 years of loyal service. Victor was a faithful member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. He joined the usher board in 1971 and served over 50 years, he also was a member of the Laymen Ministry. He was united in Holy Matrimony in Saginaw, MI to Ola M. Mathews (formerly of Eudora, Arkansas) on October 6, 1962 by Reverend Dr. J.P. Wilson, and from this union two daughters were born. One of Victor’s favorite activities was going to car shows and looking at classic cars. He enjoyed discussing current events, watching cowboy shows and football. He was conscientious about his appearance and liked to dress well. Victor had a comical side that not too many people knew about. His daughters enjoyed the funny antics he would do. Victor was a member of the NAACP and UAW Local #455. God blessed him to not only be able to provide for his family, but to also make a positive impact in the community through financially supporting various philanthropic organizations. Most importantly, throughout his life he gave credit to God for all his blessings. He leaves to cherish memories: his wife, Ola Morris and two daughters, Jacqueline Morris and Patricia Morris, all of Saginaw, Michigan; son, Curtis (Wanda) Morris; granddaughter, Hannah Morris, all of Griffin, Georgia; grandson, Demetrius Morris (Keisha); great- grandson, Isaac Morris, all of Ellenwood, Georgia; grandson, Darius Morris (Erica); great-grandson, Darius Jr. Morris, all of McDonough, Georgia; also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and in-laws that love him dearly. He had a special niece and two nephews that were raised with him, Mary Jean Morris of Saginaw, Michigan, Earon (Willie) Davis of Spokane, Washington and Banks (Emma) Morris of Saginaw, MI. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by four sisters, Pearline Morris, Ethreedyl Taylor, Minnie Webb and Mary Louise Morris; two brothers, Hugh P. Morris and Sidney P. Morris. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Dr. Marvin T. Smith will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
