Rev. William Tildon Sanders

Early Thursday morning, on September 22, 2016 after a lengthy illness our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came with opened arms and lifted, Rev. William T. Sanders up to heaven to accept his wings as he whispered to him, “JOB WELL DONE”. Our father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend lived to the blessed age of 92 years. He was born August 4, 1924 in Louisville, Mississippi to Brooks and Lela (Triplett) Sanders. William accepted Christ at an early age. He came to Saginaw, MI in 1953 and became a faithful member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member on the Deacon Board under the leadership of the late Pastor Robert Corley, Sr. He later joined Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Willie D. Hankins. William was ordained as a Reverend under Pastor Hankins in 1998. Rev. Sanders later joined Christ Disciples Church under the leadership of Rev. Paul Tolliver, where he faithfully congregated until his health started failing. William was employed with Saginaw Malleable Iron Plant, General Motors Corp. for 35 years before retiring in 1985 and was a member of UAW Local #455. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading his bible. Rev. Sanders precious memory will always be cherished by his children, DeEddie (Leona), James C. (Donna), Steve D. (Deanna), Connie J. and Jaqueline A. Sanders; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Francis Moore of Jackson, MS, Martha Lou Lyons of Philadelphia, MS, Mattie and Florece Wells of Jackson, MS and RoseAnn Sanders of Louisville, MS, two sisters-in-law, RoseMary Sanders of Saginaw, MI and Lessie Bee Sanders of Louisville, MS; very dear friends, Marshall Goss, Rev. Paul Tolliver and Bertha (Wade) Smith, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. William was preceded in death by his wife Elzonea E. Sanders; sons, MacArthur and Jerry Sanders; five brothers, Connie B., Joe D., Brooks, Johnnie Sanders and Jessie Holmes. We the Sanders family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Latonya Thomas-Robinson of MedPeds Healthcare, PC our highest gratitude for all the medical care given throughout the years. “THANK YOU”. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue. Pastor Tolliver will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family will present to greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
