February 18, 1930 - May 30, 2022
Mrs. Willie Belle “Madea” Rhodes-Greene Ferguson, affectionately known as “Madea” entered this world on February 18, 1930. Madea was born in Columbus, Georgia to the late Bobbie Lee (PaPa) Blutcher and Earline Turner. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and great-great-great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on May 30, 2022 surrounded by her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Willie Belle moved to Saginaw, Michigan at an early age. Willie was a cook at Tony’s Restaurant for many years. Willie Belle enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her grandchildren and many others throughout the years. We (the grandkids) knew we could find Madea in the kitchen cutting up french fries and preparing them just the way we liked. Willie always had a small vehicle such as a Chevrolet or Pinto which we would all pile in and hold on tight except Marnike, she was known to fall out of the car frequently. Her face would light up the room when the family was around. We thank God for all the memories we have. Mrs. Willie Belle Rhodes leaves to treasure many memories one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret (Pastor Charels) Roots, Saginaw, MI; one son, William (Marcia), Saginaw, MI; 24 grandchildren, Venita Cousins, Saginaw, Robert Mayo, Atlanta, GA, Fatima Mayo, Marnike (Rev. Randall) Hardy, Arthur Mayo, all of Saginaw, Yusuf Mayo, Chicago, IL, Tarsha (Raymond) Grissom, Saginaw, Dontae and Kyle Rhodes, Raymond Foster, Jessie, William D., Zachery and Darrius Rhodes, Actavious (TaTa) Rhodes, Damarcus Anderson, Korrey, Torrey and August Rhodes, William (Rocky) L. Rhodes, Brandon Dugan-Rhodes, Devonte D. and Jasylin Rhodes. Willie Belle also leaves to cherish her memory 55 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; six great-great-great-grandchildren. Willie Belle was preceded by her father, Bobbie Blutcher; her mother, Earline Barnes; loving husband, Willie D. Rhodes; one daughter, Elizabeth Anderson. We, the family of Willie Belle Rhodes, “Madea” had such a wonderful time with her. It’s hard to say goodbye, so we won’t. We will see you again. We love you!
