Elder Willie Maurice Prescott, Sr. was born June 28, 1964 in Saginaw, Michigan to Willie and Patricia Prescott. He went from labor to reward with his loving family surrounding him on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 56. “Maurice”, was the eldest of four siblings. He was born in Saginaw, MI at Saginaw General Hospital, and raised in Carrollton, MI. He was a graduate of Carrollton High School where he was a stand out athlete and scholar, which landed him a football scholarship at Ferris State University, where he majored in Business. He worked in a diversity of Business Sectors. In addition, playing golf was one of Maurice’s favorite pastimes. Elder Prescott was a great man of God who loved his entire family. He accepted Christ at an early age. As a child, he would often fall asleep at the edge of his bed with his bible. He was a member of Word of Faith International Ministries, under the leadership of Dr. Byron & Minister Chestermae Hayes, where he served as a minister. He was an avid bible reader who loved intellectual bible discussions. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife Robin. He was an amazing father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and brother. It is undeniable that he was the world’s greatest son. He absolutely loved his mother Patricia. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his wife of 16 years, Robin, his children Willie Jr., Brooke, Zoe, Joveille (Jasmyne), Darion, and Michael; 9 grandchildren, Braylon, Braydon, Xavier, Kaiden, Kyrie, Brielle, Naveah, Kingston, and Naomi; his loving mother Patricia Prescott, mother in love, Josephine (Joshua) Hughes; siblings Bridgett (Lawrence) Townsend, Tiffany Richardson; aunts Dorothy (Leon) Burns, Geraldine Walker, Elaine Richardson-Cook, and Stacey Bowen; uncles John (Shirley) Bowen, Jr., Paul (Vickie) Bowen, Jeffrey (Gerri) Bowen Sr., and Brian Bowen, Sr. Maurice also leaves to cherish his memories a host of family and friends. He is proceeded in death by his father Wille Prescott, his grandparents, John and Voncile Bowen; twin sister Wanda and brother Marlow Prescott; brother-in-law Howard Mark West; uncle Tyrone Bowen; niece Jazzlyn Townsend. To My Family I want you all to know that I’m ok, I’m more than ok. Robin, Mom, P.J. (my warrior), Brooke & Zoe I was the best husband I could be, the best Father I could be, the best son I knew how to be. I love all of you so much, but with the choice at hand, I had to choose God. If y’all could only see what I see, you’re going to love it. I want my entire family to see this. Please don’t be sad. Dr. Byron C. Hayes will officiate. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
