Ms. Yolaunda Yevett "Baby Girl" " Yogi" Payton

October 8, 1986 - June 29, 2020

Ms. Yolaunda Yevett Payton departed this earthly life on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Covenant Medical Center Cardiovascular ICU-3 West at the young age of 33 years, after battling health complications. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on October 8, 1986 to Rudolph and Brenda Payton, Sr. She was known as, and affectionately called, “Baby Girl” by her parents. Yolaunda was intelligent, kind-hearted, and had a smile that would light up a room. She had a beautiful, sweet spirit and was an absolute joy to be around. Yolaunda enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as, cooking traveling and enjoying a delicious meal at restaurants. Yolaunda graduated from Buena Vista High School in 2004 as salutatorian. She went on to attend Grand Valley State University to study accounting. Yolaunda had a great work ethic and had a long-standing work history with Kroger and Advance America. Her work ethic and commitment were proven while she was ill, as she often went, to work many days even when she didn’t feel good. Yolaunda’s perseverance throughout her illness was truly remarkable. She will be remembered for her determination, strong will and her ability to fight for life down to her last days. To cherish her many precious memories she leaves her loving parents, Rudolph and Brenda Payton, Sr.; two sisters, Rhonda (Willie) Burton, Lakewood, WA, and Kimdra (Dr. James) Jones, Northville, MI; three brothers, Rudolph Payton, Jr., Saginaw, MI, Aaron Payton, Sr., San Antonio, TX and Delvondre Payton, Grand Prairie, TX; god-grandparent, Enoch Harris; four aunts, Barbara Payton and Blanch Clark both of Clearwater, FL, Gloria Jackson, FL and Lee Ann (Frankie) Calbert, Selmer, TN; six uncles, Allen Payton and Lawrence Payton both of Clearwater, FL, Michael (Donna) Payton, and Jimmy (Linda) Alexander both of Saginaw, MI,, Curtis (Jovett) Hampton, Houston, TX and Lon Hampton, Grand Rapids, MI; four nieces, Kailyn Alexander, Northville, MI, Brooklyn and Kendall Payton both of Saginaw, MI and Alexis Payton, Gaithersburg, MD; five nephews, Devin and Noah Payton, both of Saginaw, MI, Kamal Jones, Northville, MI Aaron Payton, Jr. Gaithersburg, MD and KeyShawn King, Raleigh, NC; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special best friend since childhood, Shanelle Tyson, and special friends, Leon Washington, Ashley Johnson and Nikki Rucker. Yolaunda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Isaac and Lillie Mae Payton; maternal grandmother, Norma Jean Hampton; god-grandmother, Juanita Harris; maternal great-grandmother, Coriner Phillips; an aunt, LaZaundra Payton and uncle, Leroy Payton. The family would like to express special thanks, to Covenant Medical Center Cardiovascular ICU-3 West, Dr. James Jones, Pastor Mestisha Castleberry, Min.
