Mr. Alonzo Durand Miles

Mr. Alonzo Durand Miles passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the age of 47 years. He was born May 3, 1969 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of James and Carrie Miles. Alonzo was resident of Saginaw, MI and graduated from Saginaw High School in 1988. He was an avid “Spade” player, and loved being with his family and friends, Alonzo also loved fishing, cooking, watching sports especially the San Francisco 49ers and University of Alabama “Roll Tide”. He was employed at S. C. Johnson for 17 years. Mr. Alonzo Durand Miles leaves to cherish his memory; fiancée, Rachel W. Spears of Saginaw, MI; one son, Jer’Vonn D. L. Pierce; daughter, Akai Da’Karri Miles, both of Saginaw, MI; two step-children, Charmeice C. Timmons and Adreyah A. Spears; grandmother, Annie P. Howard; three sisters, Laura E. (Pastor Robert) Leonard of Montgomery, AL, Patricia A. Howard and Kendra J. Miles, both of Saginaw, MI; two nieces, Logan C. Howard and Kennadi C. Hunter; nephew, Robriquo (Channell) Leonard; a host of aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins; god-brothers, Robert Hunter, Jr., Torrance Green, Devon Green, Reggie Welch, Jr. Gregory Patterson, Jr., Justin Patterson, Trayvon James and Robert Hunter, Jr.; god-sister, Robin Hunter; other relatives and friends including special friends, Michael Davis, Duane Thomas, Walter McCall, Keith Moore and Dillard Ringold. Mr. Miles was preceded in death by his, parents, James and Carrie Miles, grandfather, Emmitt Howard, Sr.; grandparents, Frank (Grace) Miles, Sr.; niece, Shatrelle M. Howard and friend, Lee Harris, Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant Healthcare, Henry Ford Hospital of Detroit, Heritage Manor Rehabilitation Facility of Detroit and Heartland Healthcare Center. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Truevine Baptist Church, 2930 Janes Avenue, Pastor Paul E. Broaddus, Host Pastor. Pastor Robert Leonard will officiate. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present to greet friends 6:00-8:00 p.m.
