Ms. Bessie Mae Nash

Mrs. Bessie Mae Nash was born January 8, 1935 in Bishopville, South Carolina to Harry Simon and Glener Simon-Prince. She passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2022 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper at the age of 87 years. She attended Dennis High School in Bishopville, SC. Mother Nash was a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She was a faithful member of Victorious Believers Ministries Church of God In Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Marvin C. Pryor and the current Pastor Christopher V. Pryor. She served on the Mother Board. She faithfully attended Sunday school and Monday night prayer. Mother Nash loved going to church, however; during the Pandemic, she enjoyed VBM virtual service in the comfort of her home. Bessie retired from Buena Vista School District as a Bus Aide. Mother Nash loved working in her yard, going out to eat with family and friends and she enjoyed seeing her granddaughter and two great-grandsons. Shopping was her favorite past time. Mother Nash was very sassy. She loved to dress up in her lovely suits and wear her sharp hats; but what she loved the most was her son: Herman Kevin Wearrien. He preceded her in death in 2018. Mother Nash leaves to cherish loving memories, her beautiful, caring and loving granddaughter, Nicole (fiancé, Carolton Whitley) Strong-Wearrien; two handsome great-grandsons, Caaleb Murray and Chayce Whitley all of Grand Rapids, MI; a devoted brother, Sam (Wendy) Simon, Flint, MI; daughter-in-law, LaCresha Wearrien, Saginaw; a step-granddaughter, Ericka (Darius Williams) Cooper, Saginaw; step-son, Willie Lee Green, Atlanta, GA; godson, Sammy Bady, Saginaw; brothers-in-law, Archeles (Julia) Wearrien, Earl (Mary Ann) Wearrien; sisters-in-law, Rebeca (Henry) Reaves, Alfredia Williams, Ophelia (George) Brown, Veronica (Elder Willie) Reaves, Almanda (Oscar) Green, Reverend Vernell (Herman) Brabham, Teotha Wearrien and Shirley Ann Daniels; a special niece, Joyce M. Brown and nephew, Glen Simon, Jr.; a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Mother Nash was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Glener Simon-Prince; husband, Herman Wearrien; son, Herman Kevin Wearrien; brothers, Glen “Buc” Simon, Robert “Rob” Simon, Harry Bubba” Simon, Jr.; sisters, Annabelle “Belle” Brown, Flossie “Dollie” Flagg, Sara “Dean” Simon-Boyd, Diane “Tulie” Simon and Mr. James Nash. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Victorious Believers Ministries C.O.G.I.C., 624 S. Outer Drive, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Pastor Christopher V. Pryor will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
