Bishop Ramsey-Young

Kim Ramsey Young, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and spiritual leader, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, June 19, 2012. The daughter of the late Charles and Zannett Clopton Ramsey, Kim Zannett Ramsey was born July 12, 1956 in Saginaw, MI. She was a graduate of St. Peter and Paul High School, attended Ferris State University, and earned her Associate’s Degree in Art from Delta College in 2008, where she also worked as a counselor at the Ricker Center. She was also employed by the Saginaw Public Schools, working at Saginaw High School, and the Saginaw News Advertising Department. Bishop Kim Zannett Young became a licensed minister of The Gospel of Jesus Christ on September 6, 1991. She was installed in the Pastorate in 1998 and consecrated Overseer in 2007; on April 18, 2010 Bishop Young was consecrated into the office of Bishop, by Bishop Gladys Lester, at Free Indeed Ministries Church, Detroit, MI. Bishop Young’s formal religious training included a diploma in Practical Theology, and a degree in Pastoral Studies awarded her from Free Indeed Ministries, Incorporated, Flint, Michigan. In 2007, Bishop Kim Young founded Heart of The Shepherd Ministries in Saginaw, Michigan. She served as Pastor of United Way M.B.C. Church in Flint, MI and Overseer of Five Full-Gospel Ministries located throughout the United States. Bishop Young is survived by two sons, Elton Wayne and Michael Kai Ramsey; two brothers, Lester Ramsey, Brooklyn, NY and Ronald Ramsey, Saginaw, MI; a sister, Michal Ann (Roscoe) Smith, Saginaw, MI; one nephew, Jason Coates, Toledo, Ohio; one niece, Ashleigh Smith, Ypsilanti, MI; two great-nieces and two great-nephews, Jayla, Jason, Janae, and Jaden Coates, Toledo, Ohio. Aside from her parents, Bishop Young was preceded in death by her husband, Donzell Young; one brother, Douglas Wayne Ramsey; and Aunt and Uncle Virgie Lee and Elton Clopton. Pastor Tracy Hopson, of the Church of The Lamb of God, Mt. Morris, MI was a very dedicated friend to Bishop Young and provided special care to her during her illness. Special thanks also to Bishop Gladys Lester, Bishop Bernadel Jefferson, Apostle James and Leona Glenn, Pastor Pamela Lockett, and to all of those whose lives she touched through her ministry. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Center of Attraction Outreach Center, 4375 S. Washington Rd. Rev. James Glenn and Bishop Gladys Lester will officiate. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue. Family hour will be 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
