Mrs. Cucecil Elizabeth Banks

Cucecil Elizabeth Hightower-Banks went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Hoyt Nursing Home at the age of 74 years. She was born August 14, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Julius C. and Thelma (Griffin) Hightower. Cucecil was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, MI and a graduate of Saginaw High School “Class of 1961”. She retired from Saginaw Delphi Plant in 2000. She was a dedicated member of Bethel A.M.E. Church where she served as an usher and also on the Stewardess Board #3. She was a member of the Mahogany Social Club. Mrs. Banks leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Walter Banks, Jr., Victor (Lovada) Banks, Julius (Josephine) Banks and Marc (Nicki Diebel) Banks; one step-daughter, Anna Jean Holden; 13 grandchildren, Ekeia and John Holden, Latoya Roberson, Jeffery Hudson, Derek Banks, Mariah (Dominique Steward) Banks, Breonn (John) Enderie, Julius J. Banks, Victor Banks, Jr., Jenzo Banks, My’Ari Banks, Jordan Banks and Arnell Banks; five great-grandchildren; Kayla Williams, Alaya Tatum, Paris Rueda, John Enderie, Jr. and Davina Steward; one sister, Cheri M. Smith, special nieces and nephew, Camille (Gerald) Pentsil, Ericka (Julian) Taylor and Gregory (LaQueata) Smith a host of other nieces and nephews; aunt, Ernestine Hightower; six sisters-in-law, Mary Eliza Taggart, Annie B. Banks, Moline Banks-McKeethen, Sarahree Banks, Arthurene Banks and Senetta Pearl Banks; brother-in-law, Ernest L. Bradley; many other special love ones from the Banks, Butler, Griffin, Hamilton, McCarty, Reed and Yearby families including Manethia Banks and Brandi Thomas; god-daughters, Sarah Suntree Flinnon and Tiffany Reed; special friends, Brenda “Road Dog” Jones, Odie Pierce and Pat Reese and her loving pet companions, Ozzie the dog and Brave Heart the cat. Cucecil was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Thelma Hightower; husband, Walter Banks, Sr.; brother, Leonard Hightower, sister, Bevelyn Bradley; parents-in-law, Dolphus and Ella Banks; two sisters-in-law, Tesha Benham and Roxey Mae (Jay) Stockley; seven brothers-in-law, Joe, Odice, Hillard, Willie, Leroy, Floyd and Julius Banks. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 535 Cathay Street, Saginaw, MI 48601 with the funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Dennis Laffoon will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
