Mr. Damien Earl Moore

Mr. Damien Earl Moore passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the age of 35 years. He was born February 2, 1980 in Saginaw, MI to Gloris Ann Moore. Damien was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, MI. and a graduate of Saginaw High School “Class of ‘98”. He was a member of TrueVine Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army from 2003 through 2007. While in the military he was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd award). He also earned a Driver and Mechanic Badge, and was a Water Treatment Specialist. Damien served two tours in Afghanistan, Korea and Iraq and was a member of 980th Quarter Master. He was awarded an honorable discharge for military service. Damien was currently attending Delta College and was soon to start classes at Northwood University. Damien loved sports in his free time. All sports were loved by Damien. He was very soft spoken and kept to himself and had strong love for his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Gloris Ann Moore; brother, Jacoby C. Moore (Leatta); aunts, Jean Owens and Deborah Harris, both of Brownsville, TN, Pamela Hardison, Jamesville, NC, Malone Reid, Mabel Martin, Deborah A. Williams, Vickie Pearce and Earlene Moore, all of Saginaw, MI and Margaret Matthews, Decatur, IL; uncles, Deacon John (Dorothy) Moore, Saginaw, MI and Keith (London) Ferguson, Memphis, TN; great-uncle, George (Ellen) Moore; cousins, Janice M. Bynum, Taurus L. Johnson and Latasha M. Reid; many other relatives and friends including a special friend, Dediria Johnson, and a person who was like a grandmother to him, Mrs. Willie Morris. Damien was preceded in death by his uncles, Herman Moore and Henry Moore; and his grandmother, Magnolia Moore. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 at TrueVine Baptist Church, 2930 Janes Street. Pastor Paul E. Broaddus will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
