Missionary Earline Owens

Missionary Earline Williams Owens, was born on June 17, 1942, in Enterprise, Alabama. She made her transition on October 13, 2025, at the sweet age of 83 years joining in rest with her loving husband of 65 years, the late Pastor Elvin M. Owens. She leaves a legacy of spiritual sanctification to her seven surviving children, 29 grandchildren, and 8 step-grandchildren. Missionary Earline Owens was an outstanding Bible reader, praiser, prayer warrior,and worshipper at Grace Church of God in Christ where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and represented King Jesus for 53 glorious years. She was affectionately known as Mother Owens to most and was nicknamed "Charity" because of her display of unconditional love to everyone she came in contact with. She could be fondly found interacting with others using terms of endearment like "Baby" "Sweetie Pie" "Sugar" "Sugar Lump" "Daughter" "Love" "Preacher" "Deacon" "Brother" any phrase of praise that she gave was uplifting to the soul. She was a sharp dresser and the most beautiful saint you could ever come in contact with. Mother Owens was the epidemy of an altruistic human being because of the type of love she displayed to everyone she met. She obtained her Evangelist license in 1992 and worked as a Missionary for 33 years in the grand ole Church of God in Christ. Her missionary work included Sunday School Teacher, lead Prayer and Bible Band, served as a District Missionary and raised her family of 8 children with her husband. Mother Owens was a faithful member and loved going to Grace Church of God in Christ. Her favorite pastime was reading the Bible, studying and praying as well as watching Game Shows. Her style of dress exhibited elegance and she often testified that once she got filled with the precious Holy Ghost she never backslid into a pair of pants. She loved being a holy woman in a dress, skirt suit and lived holy with a happy joyful spirit. She enjoyed being the First Lady by her husband's side, when you saw him, you'd see her in their matching outfits. Grandchildren: Elvin(Tangela) Owens III, Whitney (Derek) Gozenbach, Mandy Owens, Elijah Owens; Luckisha Washington, Josephine Seay, Sabrina Washington, Antoinette Washington, Derek Washington; Earline Brooks, Sterling (Tomika) Brooks, Markeyla (Steve) Bell; Ann Jackson, Keith Jackson, Angela Jackson; Andrew (Elesha) Owens, Sherikia Baskin, Marcus Owens, Tawana (Lance) Brewer, Jessica (Wayne) Watkins, Sheana Owens; Darren Smith, Pamela Smith; Jalicia (Kristian) Jones, Jasmine Owens, James Owens Jr.; Jaquana (Byron) Poindexter; Donald (Brittney) Bivens III. Step-grandchildren: Tammy Barlow, Dan Larsen, Ashley (Terrell) Brown, Lee Reynolds, Niara Owens, Madisyn Ware, Mya Bolds, and Monica Bolds. She leaves behind 62 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, goddaughter, Terry Falls, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Roosevelt and Lessie Mae (Campbell) Williams; siblings Charlie Knight, Roosevelt Williams, Jr., Isabella Brandon, Eddie Lee Williams, Minnie Lee (Daniel) Shine, Johnny Wesley Williams, Roy James Williams, Dorothy Reese Knight, Charles Williams; her husband Elvin Owens, one daughter, Melissa Washington and one grandson, Louis Owens Jr. and one great-granddaughter Gia Marie Gozenbach. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, October 25, 2025, at World Outreach Campus, 2405 Bay Rd., Saginaw, MI 48602, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Bishop Hurley J. Coleman, Jr. Pastor and Supt. Louis E. Owens officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Those wishing to express words of encouragement and share a Mother Owens style testimony may do so during Family Hour at 10 AM. Funeral Services will start promptly at 11 AM.
