Mrs. Erthlene Jackson

HER LIFE Mrs. Erthlene Jackson of Saginaw, Michigan departed this world in victory on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the age of 78 years. She was born July 14, 1941 to Walter and Hattie (Robinson) Williams in Columbia, South Carolina. Erthlene was one of twenty children and the youngest girl. She was always surrounded by lots of family. She attended Booker T. High School in Columbia until she left to join her older siblings in Saginaw, Michigan. While residing in Saginaw she met Edgar Jackson to whom she was wed in Holy Matrimony on May 13, 1960. United together for 34 years, they raised their six children to love God, embrace family and strive for excellence. While keeping the children and the home was her primary and most accomplished role, Erthlene also worked outside the home for the Saginaw Public School System and General Motors Corp. She was well known for her generosity, her sense of humor and her culinary skills. Above all, she lived a life that was devoted to serving God in worship and works. Mother Jackson faithfully discharged her Christian duties as a truly dedicated member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, working in various ministries for more than 45 years. HER LEGACY Erthlene was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and servant. She leaves to her family a legacy of love, faith, kindness and spiritual fortitude. She leaves as a legacy to this world five children, Terry Williams, Edgar Jackson, Jr., Veronica Young (Berry), Lisa Williams (Pastor Timothy) and Sandra Allen (Nate); daughter-in-love, Maggie Jackson; son-in-love, Kenny Moon; 18 grandchildren, Terrisha, Jessica (Terrance), Shamona, Edgar III, Alisha (Phillip), Aaron, Berry, Jr. (Latoya), Tierra (Earvin), Brittany (Charles), Kenny, Jr., Kenyata, Kelvin, Timeka (Christopher), Michael, Torry, Shanna, Asia (Jimmie) and Alontae; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace Jones; one brother, Curtis Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edgar Jackson, Sr.; one daughter, Theresa Moon; parents, Walter and Hattie Williams and seventeen siblings. She will be remembered for her love of life, her unwavering faith and her unselfish lifestyle. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 120 N. 15th Street, Saginaw, MI 48601. Dr. Vincent McMillon will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Rd., Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family will be present from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.
