Mrs. Flora Dell Arnett

Flora Arnett went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with her family by her side on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Hoyt Nursing Home, at the age of 92. Flora was born October 27, 1931 in Florence, Alabama to James and Ivory Pinson Brewer they both preceded her in death. She had an infectious spirit and a heart of gold. Anyone that came in her path could feel the love. She was a God fearing woman and she loved her family. In Florence Alabama she met the love of her life, William R. Arnett. They married in June of 1948 and uprooted their lives and moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1949. In Saginaw, Michigan, she started her career as a nanny where she loved taking care of children. She also worked as a cook at Tony’s Restaurant and General Motors . She attended Rosehill Baptist Church until her health failed her. Flora enjoyed bowling, bingo, and her passion of hitting those penny machines at the casino. You could always find her sitting in her favorite chair, watching her game shows and talking on the phone. She leaves to cherish in her memory her three children: Linda D. Taylor, Leopold (Janel) Arnett and Sharon (Gary “Bigum”) Rogers; grandchildren, Jermaine Taylor, Eric (Canciss) Ford, Takesha (George) Lee, Jeana (Eddie, Jr.) Thigpen, Tacarra Ford, Tiffany Arnett, Tameika (Kehindae) Palmer, Terrance (Amanda) Hudson, Vonika Hudson, Latasha Hudson, Arleah Arnett, Briana Holliman, Ralphael Arnett, DeAnthony Arnett, Eric Wills, Bernard and Christina Beal; Flora had a great love for her great-grandchildren, Ah’Niya and Amarion Arnett, Eric C. Ford, Jadyn and Arijana Taylor, Terrance Jr. and Tanaja Hudson, Trae’Vion and MiKaylah Hudson, Jaylen Hudson, Lazarria, Lanay, and Tianna Palmer, Edeana (Keyon) Addison, Eddie Thigpen III., Kalien and DeAnthony Arnett Jr., Blake, Braylon and Brooke Beal, Jamaya McCain and Jayden Davis; two godchildren, Chevette James and Jimmy Bentley; sister, Lillie B. Strong, brother, Moses (Gwen) Brewer. Flora had a special relationship with sisters-in-love, Beatrice (Albert) Bond and Mattie Hardin; her niece, Donna Shipman; her daughter-in-love, Virginia Arnett; and her brothers-in-love, James E. Jackson and Joe Hardin. Flora was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Arnett Sr.; daughter, Izora Lucille Ford; sons, Johnny Ray Arnett and William (Junebug) Arnett Jr.; grandson, Jamal McCain; sisters, Mary Louise Beachum and Nella D. Jackson; brothers, Joe L. Brewer, James Brewer, William Brewer and Samuel L. Brewer; son-in-love, Franklin Ford. She leaves a host of family and friends who loved her dearly. With a special relationship with Lizzie Anderson, the Moten, Mitchners, and Swilley families. Flora was the beloved Matriarch of our family. She was blessed to live a long and beautiful life. She will be missed infinitely as we will ensure to keep her legacy alive through the memories we were all blessed to share with her. The family will greet guests at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service commencing at 12:00 noon Friday, February 2, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Ernest Reed will officiate with interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N.
