Mr. George E. Lee., Jr.

Mr. George E. Lee Jr. our beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend transitioned from his earthly home on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Saginaw, MI at the age of 70. George Jr. was born March 5, 1946 in Itta Bena, Mississippi, to George Sr, and Josie Lee. George moved to Saginaw, MI with his family at the age of eight years old and attended Saginaw Public Schools. He accepted Christ at an early age. George Jr. was a very dedicated and hard-working man. He was employed by Saginaw Metal Casting Operations Grey Iron Foundry for forty-two years and was a member of the UAW Local 668. He retired in 2008. George Jr. was very loved and will certainly be missed. He enjoyed watching western movies and television shows, the animal channel, basketball and football, especially the Detroit Lions. He was a huge jokester and loved making his loved ones laugh. His joking and playful telephone calls will be missed by many. George Jr. leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Gloria Lee; mother, Josie Lee; daughter, Lynette Amos; step-children; Ray (Charita) Johnson, Ronald Johnson, and Kenneth Amos; grandchildren; Ta’Sharra Amos, James Wilson III, Keyonte Johnson, DeVeon Johnson, Keyosha Johnson, De’Corrion Davis, A’Mariea Davis, Ron’Niesha Johnson, Ron’Darius Johnson, Courtney Amos, De’Quavion Davis and Precious Riley; great-grandchildren; Ki’Miya Amos, Tahlia Watson, Harmony Long, and Royal Smith, brothers; Ernest (Dawn) Lee, Osker (Tinincia) Lee and Alvin (Gwendolyn) Lee; sisters, Frances (Allen) Haulcy, Rosemary (Zekiel Little) Jones and Minister Debroah Lee-Tyiska; step-mother, Evelyn Lee; step-sisters, Marilyn Brown and Sylvia Davis; step-brother, Mitchell (Alice) Brown; brothers-in-law, Edward Johnson, Ronald Johnson and Henry (Patricia) Speight; sisters-in-law, Alma Johnson, Annie Fuller, Archie Cary, Beverly (Herbert) Morris, Cheryl Speight, Debra Shields, Ida Speight and Jenelle McFadden; special aunts, Mavis Taylor and Eddie Dickson; aunts, Bertha Kidel, Doris West; uncles, Albert Lee, Robert Lee and John Lee; god-mother, Daisy Baber; god-sister, Estrella Young; god-daughter, Raecille Brooks; special friends, Willie Agnew and Freddie Jackson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special nieces, Denise Johnson, Akeshia Speight, Shalisa Cary, Josie Cary and special cousins, Minnie (Lee) Chamberlain . He was preceded in death by his father, George Lee Sr.; brother, Rickey Lee; sister, Joysie Lee; uncles, Sam Mitchell, Melvin Lee, William Lee, and Willie Lee Jr.; aunts, Daisy Pritchett, Mattie Davis and Ethel Bibbs; niece, Angelica Lee; and nephew Alvin Lee Jr. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue. Pastor Ernest Reed will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
