Ms. Holly Jean Washington

Holly Jean Washington was born on July 4, 1971 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Ben and Mary Sue Washington. She passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the age of 53 years. Ms. Washington was a lifelong resident of Saginaw and a cherished member of Christ Kingdom Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Edward and Mattie Jackson. A proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School "Class of 89" and she earned a Master's Degree in Business from Spring Arbor University. Holly exemplified determination and resili-ence. Her academic achievements were just one facet of her multifaceted life; she was also known for her unwavering support for her family and friends. She was not only an accomplished woman, but she was incredibly warm hearted. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her immense joy. Her love for family was evident in everything she did making her a beloved figure in her community. She had a special way of making everyone feel valued and loved, and her presence will always be fondly remembered. Holly leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Ashley Washington and Angel Turner, both of Saginaw. She found immense joy in being a grandmother to Jesse and Jayceon Turner. She shared deep bonds with her brothers, Duane Moten, Andy Deon Moten, Glen Jackson, Sr., and Ben Smith; sisters, Bria Smith, Valli Sangster and Kendra (Luconious ) Ross; aunts and uncles, Betty (Spiva) Haynes, Helen Brown, Willa Walters, Catherine Harris and Tom Sanders; her lifelong friend, Willie Barnes; Nephew/like a son, Clifford Wicker Jr., special niece, Chelaine Smith; a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins including special cousin, Jacharri (Todd) Lewis-Dixon; special god-brother, Charles (Charmekka) Lawrence; and a host of relatives and friends relationship enriched Holly’s life immeasurably. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben (Newsome) Washington and Mary (Mae Sue) Washington; grandparents, James and Emma Newsome and Jack and Linne Mae Johnson; sister Sheila Newsome; brothers, Ben (Puddin) Washington, Jr., Gregory Jackson, Warren Wesley and Lavern Corneil; aunt, Mary Gates; uncles, James Jack Johnson, Charles Bubba Johnson, Jim Newsome and Robert Stephen; favorite cousin, Jermaine Gates; close friends, Marilyn Wright and Ramona Steward. Throughout her journey on this earth, Holly embodied compassion. Whether it was through lending an ear or offering words of encouragement during tough times or celebrating joyous moments with laughter that echoed through gathering filled with love-she made every moment count. Her legacy will live on not only through the memories shared, but also through the values instilled within those who loved her dearly.
