Ms. Iberia Marie Rowan

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Ms. Iberia Marie Rowan, Friday, February 19, 2021. Our loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched. She transitioned while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Iberia was in her 70th year, born, raised and educated in Louisiana until she moved to Saginaw, Michigan in the early 70's for the betterment of her family. Iberia retired with over thirty years at General Motors Corporation. She was an active member at New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, working with several ministries and committees. She loved her family, friends, and most importantly she instilled in her sons, strong moral values that they will pass on to their children. She is the beloved mother of two sons, David Rowan III (Shavon) of Arlington, Texas and Ronald C. Rowan and Nikkia Hullum of Saginaw, MI; twin sister La-Vera Dell Rowan and sister Georgia Barkley; grandchildren Daveyale, Shalise, Sharriae, Ashanti, David, Mariah, Maliah, Ryleigh, Reagan and her great grandson Kayson; nieces Starreese Muhammad (Baa-Ith), Karameia S. Barkley of Stone Mountain, GA, and Special Daughter Diana Singleton-Johnson (Clinton), cousin Edwin J. Singleton (Kyla); great niece Sea’Airra Rowan; nephews Derick (Amanda) Barkley, Adrian A. Barkley of Denver, Colorado; great nephews Sincere Turner and Myles Barkley; great great niece Serenity Turner, and great great nephew Ayden Turner. She is also survived by many other family members and friends including goddaughter Ja’Nay Johnson. She is predeceased by parents, David Rowan, Jr. and Katie Rowan Cook; special uncle Clark Singleton and other aunts/uncles. She will be dearly missed and will remain forever in our hearts. The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant’s Oncology staff and Hospice employees for services rendered. Visitation will take place from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. A private funeral will be held. Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601.
