Mrs. Isabella Saniford

Mrs. Isabella Saniford was born April 1, 1934 in Noxapater, Mississippi to the parents of Lodge Stephen and Myrthle Bridges. She passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the age of 87 years. Mrs. Saniford was employed for 30 years at Goodwill Cleaners. She accepted the Lord at a young age and held fast to her faith in God. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where she served with the Young Matrons, the Missionary Department, the Senior Choir, and other ministries in the church. She was the last surviving member of the Ladies Birthday Club. Isabella had a huge heart. She extended her time and love to all who came across her path. She was a prayer warrior and constantly in prayer. Isabella loved singing hymns and watching gospel videos. She loved to eat out and her favorite saying was, “Jean, I’m hungry”. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing and talking to family and friends on the phone. Mrs. Saniford leaves her very special cousin, Barbara Jean Hickman whose full name she faithfully called, and requested her to stay with her. She also leaves nieces and nephews, Mary Burnside, Yolanda Gill and Tonya Smith, all of Saginaw, Sandra Robinson, Kosciusko, MS, Mildred Peteet, Detroit, Mi, Regina Mallett, Saginaw, Louis Harvey, Jr., Thomas Mallett of Kosciusko, MS and Johnnie Burnside of IL; god-daughter, Nikia Williams; a host of other nieces and nephews. Isabella leaves her telephone buddy and special cousin, McArthur Carter of Kosciusko, MS; and many other relatives and friends including special friends, Rosemary Sanders, Versie Jumper, Debra Robinson and Jerlean Burnside. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otho Saniford; her brother, J T Burnside; parents, Lodge Stephen and Myrthle Bridges; and a special cousin like a brother, Mose Burnside and a special niece, Michelle. The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant Healthcare and Symphony of Tri-Cities; especially Angie of Symphony for all of her heartfelt care. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 23, 2021 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 810 Cathay Street Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Pastor Blake Strozier will officiate with interment in Forest Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from Sunday from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
